GamesRadar have confirmed that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is the rebranded Like a Dragon 8 that was previously revealed back in September 2022. This also means the game is likely going to be launching on PS4 and PS5 in addition to PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
The next chapter in Ichiban’s journey through the Like a Dragon franchise is coming to Microsoft platforms in early 2024. This new entry in the series sees Ichiban wake up naked on a beach in North America. You’ve got to see it to believe it:
It is unclear at the time of writing if Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is a rebranding of the previously announced Like a Dragon 8 or a new entry in the franchise. It is also unclear if this entry is Microsoft exclusive or if it will be coming to other platforms.
Atlus have revealed a new remaster of Persona 3 called Persona 3 Reload that will be coming exclusively to Microsoft platforms in early 2024. This includes Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will also be available via the Microsoft Game Pass service. You can check out the first trailer below:
Persona 3 is an RPG/social sim spin-off of the Shin Megami Tensei franchise that originally launched in 2006 on PS2. It was later brought to PSP in 2009.
Previously revealed back in September 2022, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is an interquel set between Yakuza 6 & 8 and is said to be game with a much smaller scope than previous entries in the Like a Dragon franchise. We now have our first look at the in-game action of Like a Dragon Gaiden and it showcases some pretty wild beat-em-up combat with Kiryu going undercover as the mysterious Joryu. A brand new 2D Sonic the Hedgehog game is coming this Autumn 2023 and it’s called Sonic Superstars. Featuring co-operative gameplay, this new 2D take on the classic Sonic formula features Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy as playable characters. Dr. Eggman returns as the main antagonist but he’s bringing a returning Fang the Sniper with him. Check out the reveal trailer below:
Sonic Superstars launches on PC, Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S in Autumn 2023. Naoto Oshima returns to the Sonic franchise to lend his talents to the design of a brand new character who has not been revealed at this time. The game will be available digitally and boxed.
The Creative Assembly have unveiled the latest entry in the Total War franchise with Total War: Pharaoh which launches in October 2023. As you can imagine with a title like that, the action takes place in ancient Egypt. You can check out the pre-rendered reveal trailer below:
Total War: Pharaoh will be the 16th mainline entry in the Total War series. The game is available to pre-order now and will be available on the Steam and Epic Games Store platforms for PC. There are 3 editions available offering various additional content packs and also a digital soundtrack download.

The Dreamcast version of Rent-A-Hero No. 1 has finally received a full English translation patch thanks to the wonderful work of VincentNL and their team. This action RPG is a remake of the 1991 Mega Drive game Rent-A-Hero and features a humorous send-up of SEGA themselves, with the game putting you in control of a “hero for hire” who must perform various heroic tasks and odd jobs around the city.
A partially translated version of the unreleased Western Xbox version was leaked in 2008 and has been the only way to play any version of the game in English until now.
ChaosX’s Project 06 is back with its third major release. This fan-created Sonic 06 remaster features a whole raft up updates, enhancements and improvements to the original game, and with this latest release Silver’s full trial campaign is now available to play alongside Sonic and Shadow’s. It appears that the Sonic LEGO Ideas Set from last year was quite the hit because LEGO have gone and announced a whole raft of new Sonic the Hedgehog LEGO play-sets.
The iconic Green Hill Zone loop is available as a play-set which includes a “speed sphere” that can house a Sonic mini-fig. The speed sphere is used in conjunction with a launcher to fire Sonic round the loop. Tails’s workshop, the Tornado and a matching Tails mini-fig are also available, alongside an Amy Rose mini-fig and an animal rescue island play-set. It appears we’re also being teased with the prospect of a Dr. Eggman play-set as well. Check out the reveal trailer by clicking the embed below:
There is currently no word on a release date or when the play-sets will be available for pre-order at the time of writing.
SEGA have finalised their deal to acquire Rovio Entertainment for €706 million. This includes the Angry Birds franchise which is owned solely by the Finnish developer.
Rovio Entertainment are one of the biggest names in mobile gaming, posting an earnings total of €306.7 million for the 2022 financial year. The takeover deal by SEGA is due to be finalised around September 2023. Both companies are looking to benefit from each other, with SEGA looking to expand its mobile gaming business and Rovio looking to expand into console gaming.
SEGA have had huge success in the mobile gaming space, opening their own dedicated mobile gaming development studio SEGA Hardlight in January 2012. SEGA have famously supported the iOS app store since its launch in 2008 with the release of Super Monkey Ball. They have also supported the Apple Arcade service since its launch in 2019 with the release of Sonic Racing and ChuChu Rocket! Universe.
