Stranger Than Heaven was showcased at Summer Games Fest 2026 with a brand new trailer that reveals SEGA have licensed the likeness of another dead celebrity in the form of Tupac Shakur.
The game had already confirmed the use of Bunta Sugawara’s likeness, but what’s especially disappointing about this use of Tupac’s likeness is that it was arranged with his “estate”. Tupac’s “estate” is owned by Tom Whalley who is not related to Tupac in anyway. Whalley is actually being sued Sekyiwa Shakur – Tupac’s actual living sister.
Stranger Than Heaven is being developed by RGG Studio and it launches on the 15th of January 2027 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. I would recommend not supporting this release if you don’t want to inadvertently send royalties to a rich guy who seized Tupac’s estate after the passing of Tupac’s mother.
A brand new 5 minute cast & story trailer for Stranger Than Heaven has landed.
The cast features a slew of big names including Yu Shirota, Dean Fujioka, Snoop Dogg, Moeka Hoshi, Tori Kelly, Akio Otsuka, Tokuma Nishioka, Satoshi Fujihara, Cordell Broadus, Ado, and a character being physically portrayed by the late Bunta Sugawara and voiced by Takashi Ukaji.
The game is still set across 5 different eras, but the story now appears to be about the founding of the Tojo Clan – the faction of the Yakuza that Kiryu Kazama is a part of in the main Yakuza franchise.
Stranger Than Heaven will release in Winter 2026 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game is being developed by RGG Studio.
A brand new trailer for RGG Studio’s Stranger Than Heaven has gone live, and with it is the announcement that the game takes place in Kamurocho but across 5 different eras. Stranger Than Heaven will take place in 1915, 1929, 1943, 1951 and 1965. You can check out the latest trailer via the embed below:
With this latest trailer we also get the news that this will be RGG Studio’s first game to not be cross-generational. Stranger Than Heaven will launch exclusively on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. More details about Stranger Than Heaven are due to be revealed in a special Xbox Presents showcase on May 6th 2026.
Stranger Than Heaven is being developed by RGG Studio. There is currently no word on a release date, but the latest trailer promises the game is “coming soon”.
Previously revealed back in December 2024, Project Century is a new game from Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio that plays like a Yakuza game set in the past.
It would appear the game is set in multiple timelines as the last trailer showcased a Kamurocho from 1915, but the latest trailer showcased at Summer Games Fest brings the action into 1943 and gives the game a proper title – Stranger Than Heaven. You can check out the latest trailer via the embed below:
Stranger Than Heaven still has no release date or even any target platforms. The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio are keeping themselves very busy because they’ve also revealed a brand new title that is being temporarily named Project Century. This new action game appears to be sent in the Kamurocho of 1915 and the reveal trailer shows a new character exploring the city and getting into some rather nasty scraps. Check it out via the embed below:
Project Century currently has no release window or target platforms at the time of writing, but the game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
