SEGA have sparked a deal with Asiasoft to develop an English-language version of Phantasy Star Online 2 for release in South-East Asia regions. Asiasoft support games released in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore.
A Western release for Phantasy Star Online 2 is still in doubt, but at least an English language version of the game will now exist.
Up and until now, SEGA’s 3D re-releases of classic SEGA titles for the 3DS eShop have been exclusive to Japan, but by the looks of things two of these titles look to be coming West.
The Australian Classification Board has entries for both 3D Sonic the Hedgehog and 3D Altered Beast. While Australia obviously isn’t the West, games that are generally released in this region get a release in the West as well.
No official word on these titles or any release dates have been revealed at this time.
The 3 Sonic titles exclusive to the Nintendo and SEGA worldwide partnership will be released this year. This information comes from a press release from Nintendo Germany which catagorically states:
Today, they (Sega) revealed further details of the second of three titles, which the two companies will release exclusively on Wii U and 3DS. All three games will be released this year.
So good news for Wii-U and 3DS owners! It’s going to be a very Sonicy year!
BBC Earth (the natural history division of BBC Worldwide) has partnered with SEGA to bring 2 attractions to the United States and Japan.
The attractions will be a “unique visitor experience” that fuses nature with technology. Sonic CD: The Experience? I wish.
The attraction will be a 4000 square meter, multi-level visitor experience. The BBC have said the attraction will allow visitors to “undertake an individual adventure using their eyes, ears, hands and minds to explore the wonders of the natural world”.
The attractions will launch this year and exact locations will be announced in the coming months. Other locations for the attraction are expected to follow but there is no indication of a UK launch at this time.

Corey Marshall, famously known for his role as Ryo Hazuki in the Shenmue series has teased some voice acting work on an unspecified SEGA title.
The voice actor is pictured in the studio and then next to a SEGA banner of some sort. Speculation already points to Shenmue 3 (when doesn’t it), but could Ryo be making another cameo appearance in another SEGA title?
The updated version of Dead or Alive 5 (imaginatively titled Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate) will also feature Virtua Fighter’s Jacky Bryant. Check out the character in action below:
The above image has just appeared on the official SEGA page and features silhouettes of a collection of new characters who will appear in Sonic: Lost World for Wii-U and 3DS.
The image comes with the message, “Six will rise from the Lost World. Are they friends or foes? Find out on May 29th.”
