Thanks to the lovely people at Low Score Boy Gameplay, we now have an extended 10 minute look at Streets of Rage 4 in action. The game is currently being demoed at Bitsummit 2019. Take a look below:
Some interesting things to note include the first look at Axel and Blaze’s super moves, and we also see a new gameplay mechanic in the form of bouncing enemies off walls. It appears that the game is running on PC as well, but this might not mean this is a confirmed platform as in-development games are often demoed on PC at events like these.
This is currently no word on a release date for Streets of Rage 4 or an official announcement for what platforms the game will release on.
On the 30th of May 2019, SEGA Europe held a preview event for the upcoming Judgment game, aptly named Judgment Day. At this event we got a chance to play the game and in this video we share our thoughts on both the game and the event itself:
Books written by YouTubers are fast becoming a common occurrence and now it’s time for Peter Leigh aka The Nostalgia Nerd to throw his hat in the ring. The Nostalgia Nerd’s Retro Tech: Computers, Consoles, & Games is a brief but well-presented history of retro computers and consoles that comes off like a cute, little handbook that guides you through some of history’s most famous (and infamous) gaming hardware.

Our good friends Pete “TitansCreed” Nethercote and Andy “TheBritishAndy” Wilson will be running another Sonic charity stream this year.
Last year they managed to raise over £600 for Special Effect over the course of 10 hours playing the Classic set of Sonic games. This year they’re aiming for a minimum of £700, but they will be streaming over two days with more of a focus on the modern Sonic titles.
Day 1 will consist of the following games:
Sonic Adventure DX
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Generations
Day 2 will consist of the following games:
Sonic Lost World
Sonic Mania
Sonic Forces
Check out the trailer for Race for Good 2: Adventure Battle DX by clicking below:
The race will be hosted on both twitch.tv/projectphoenixproductions & twitch.tv/thebritishandy on June 22nd and June 23rd. It will begin at 8am BST/3am EDT/12am PDT. We wish both TitansCreed and TheBritishAndy all the best during their stream! As soon as a donation page is available we will update this story so you can donate to their cause.
After heavy criticism of Sonic’s on-screen appearance in the first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie, director Jeff Fowler has made it clear that changes to the design are, “going to happen”. Fowler’s full tweet regarding the backlash is below:
“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast”
This is quite an interesting development and something that likely comes with a heavy development and marketing cost. It also shows a greater commitment to protecting Sonic’s status as one of the most recognisable mascot characters of the nineties, who was previously reported to be more recognisable than Mickey Mouse in the 6 to 11 year old demographic in 1992.
The first Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer has currently been viewed 21.7 million times with 283 thousand likes and 479 thousand dislikes. The film is due to be released in the US on November 8th 2019. Sonic himself will be voiced by Ben Schwartz.
The first trailer for Paramount’s Sonic the Hedgehog movie is here! Get your first look at Sonic and Dr. Robotnik in action by clicking the embed below:
All the previous imagery and leaks appear to have come true. The CGI Sonic is voiced by Ben Schwartz and seems to be a “realistic” take on the character with fur covering his whole body apart from his shoes. Sonic’s body shape is also quite human-proportioned. Jim Carrey’s Robotnik does have hair, but as alluded to in the final shot of the trailer, he appears to lose it and gain a lengthier mustache at some point during the film.
The Sonic the Hedgehog movie releases on November 8th 2019 in the US. The film also stars James Marsden and is being directed by Jeff Fowler in his feature film debut.
