Previously PC and Switch exclusive, Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon from developer PiXEL is now coming to the Mega Drive via Columbus Circle. The Mega Drive version will release in December 2023 exclusively via Japanese retailers.
Amazon Japan have previously sold Columbus Circle products, but at the time of writing there is currently no listing for Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon on Amazon Japan.
Xiaomei and the Flame Dragon is a belt-scrolling beat-em-up in the Streets of Rage/Final Fight/Double Dragon mold. You can see the Switch version in action via the video embed below:
Previously revealed for the deluxe version of Darius Cozmic Revelation, a new Extra Version of the previously Mega Drive Mini port of Darius will release on a Mega Drive cartridge thanks to the good people at Columbus Circle.
Columbus Circle have been responsible for a string of new Mega Drive releases that include 16 Bit Rhythm Land, Advanced Busterhawk Gley Lancer, Ultracore and Mad Stalker: Full Metal Forth.
Columbus Circle are back once again with a new Mega Drive game, but this time we have something really special. The publisher is producing a brand new port of Mad Stalker: Full Metal Forth for the Mega Drive. This title has never been released on the Mega Drive before and was originally released for Sharp X68000 computers. The game is supposedly one of the biggest influences on the development of Guardian Heroes. You can watch the reveal trailer below:
Mad Stalker: Full Metal Forth will release on the Mega Drive on the 17th of September 2020 and can be pre-ordered now from Amazon Japan. It is priced at 6,578 yen, which currently converts to £48.68 in British sterling. Columbus Circle have previously been responsible for re-releases of Advanced Busterhawk Gleylancer and the release of 16-Bit Rhythm Land and Ultracore.
Columbus Circle are back once again with a new boxed Mega Drive game and this time its the infamously cancelled Ultracore by DICE. Ultracore is also included as a bonus built-in game with Analogue’s recently released Mega SG systems, but this will be the first time the game has received a boxed pressing, alongside the (now sold out) boxed Mega Drive version that Strictly Limited Games are running.
It can be pre-ordered from Amazon Japan now for ¥9,650, about £71.82 at the current exchange rate.
Legendary side-scrolling shoot-em-up Advanced Busterhawk Gley Lancer is getting a reprint 27 years after its initial release for the Mega Drive. This new run will release on the 6th of June 2019 and pre-orders can be placed on Amazon Japan right now. It’s not a cheap item though. Pre-orders are priced at 11,966 yen which currently converts to around £81.70 in British sterling. Regardless, this is still substantially cheaper than the current resale value of an original print copy.
This new print is not officially sanctioned by SEGA and comes courtesy of the people at Columbus Circle, who previously released Rhythm Land for the Mega Drive in February.
Japanese publisher Columbus Circle is releasing a new Mega Drive game called Rhythm Land. The title kind of gives it away, but this is a rhythm game in the Rhythm Heaven mould that features varied environments to interact with, all to the rhythm of a song. The soundtrack even features music from Yuzo Koshiro. Check out the trailer below which also features footage of the 8 bit version of Rhythm Land which is available for Famicom:
The game is due to release on the 15th of February 2019 and can be pre-ordered now through Amazon Japan for ¥6458 (roughly £45 at time of writing).
