We’ve been busy beavering away with a whole host of new additions in the Merchandise sections on the website. See the list below for the full list of additions as well as direct links to each new entry:
Jon Burton of TT Games has continued to upload the various demo music from Jun Senoue’s early cassette soundtrack for Sonic 3D: Flickies’ Island. The latest 2 videos feature the demos for Green Grove Zone which was previously titled Green Alley Zone, and another song for an unused Knuckles bonus stage is actually a demo for the song that would end up being used for Pleasure Castle in Sonic Adventure. Check them both out using the embeds below:
Back in October 2017, Jon Burton of Traveller’s Tales fame revealed that he was in the possession of a cassette containing the demo versions of Jun Senoue’s Sonic 3D Blast soundtrack. Well fast-forward 2 years and Burton has started to upload these demos to his YouTube channel, GameHut. You can listen to 3 of the tracks from the cassette via the embed below:
This is a fascinating piece of history that showcases how Jun Senoue wrote his music in 1996. The demos are arranged very simplistically on synthesisers before being re-arranged for use on the Mega Drive’s Yamaha YM2612 sound chip. The full tracklisting for the demo cassette is listed below. Hopefully Burton continues to share more of the music from the cassette:
A1 Opening (Short Ver.)
A2 Opening (Long Ver.)
A3 Power Up
A4 Green Alley Zone Act.1
A5 Casino Night Zone Act.1
A6 Boss (Minor Key)
B1 Boss (Major Key)
B2 Special Stage
B3 Bonus Stage (Miles)
B4 Bonus Stage (Knuckles)
The Sonic Adventure Music Experience is coming to the UK thanks to the people who brought you the Summer of Sonic convention.
Taking place on the 8th of December 2019 at The Garage in London, the Sonic Adventure Music Experience is a live music show lead by Jun Senoue and the SAME band where they perform new arrangements of music from the Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 soundtracks.
The event is being organised by Svend Joscelyne and Adam Tuff who have previously helmed various Summer of Sonic events. To secure your place at the event, tickets can be ordered via the event’s Kickstarter page which is now live and available to view by clicking here. Various ticket bundles are available for groups up to 4 and the event needs to raise £13,500 to secure all the various costs that come with putting on a live show in central London.
A whole host of new books and CDs have been added to our Merchandise section. You can go direct to the Book Catalogue or Music Index to browse the various entries, or you can look below for a list of the latest additions:

Another new Sonic remix was revealed at SXSW and this is a special remix of Knuckles’ theme from Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Arranged by Tee Lopes and Jun Senoue, this remix also contains a little nod to Knuckles’ Unknown from M.E. theme from Sonic Adventure. You can listen to it by clicking the embed below:
This isn’t the first time Tee Lopes and Jun Senoue have collaborated on a Sonic Mania Adventures special remix. The duo also released the song Discovery last month and you can listen to that by clicking here.
A new song from the Team Sonic Racing soundtrack has been debuted at SXSW. This new track is called Bingo Party and it’s actually a remix of the Bingo Highway theme from Sonic Heroes. This remix was arranged by original composer Jun Senoue and features a Sonic series debut for chiptune artist TORIENA, who also collaborated on the track. Check it out:
Bingo Party is just one song on the 130 song Team Sonic Racing: Maximum Overdrive soundtrack which will launch the same day as Team Sonic Racing on digital music streaming and download services. Team Sonic Racing launches on May 21st 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
Fast becoming a tradition, the Sonic the Hedgehog team at SEGA are once again making an appearance at SXSW Gaming to host a Sonic the Hedgehog panel.
The panel hasn’t been confirmed for a specific date/time at the time of writing, but it will take place at some point during the 15th to the 17th of March 2019. The panel will feature Aaron Webber, Jasmin Hernandez, Jun Senoue and Takashi Iizuka and it promises to discuss, “the latest for the blue blur and his next steps for 2019 and beyond.”
Previous SXSW Sonic panels have revealed the existence of Team Sonic Racing, Sonic Mania Plus and Sonic Mania Adventures, so expect some pretty high profile reveals during this year’s panel.
