The Sonic Amateur Games Expo is returning after 2 years away. The 2016 edition will run from October 15th to October 22nd 2016. If you’re a Sonic fan game developer or just an independent game developer altogether, then you can submit your entries to sageentry@gmail.com, but you must include the following:
– A title/logo to display for it’s respective game, PNG format, at least 500 x 500.
– A description of what your game submission is all about, including any links to soundtracks, websites, game credits, or miscellaneous information about your entry.
– A zip file containing your game.
– All game entries must be submitted by October 7th. If your game will not be finished before that time, it will not be featured in the event.
– ROM Hacks are allowed, given they significantly change something about the games they are based on.
– Your submission must be a complete demonstration or full release of your game project.
– If you have multiple game projects to submit, please follow the submission guidelines for each project.
– If you have an engine to demonstrate, it will be put under a different category differing from regular game submissions. Engines must follow the same guidelines as stated above.
A complete list of details regarding entries for both games and streams is available from Sonic Retro.
We’re onto the final 2 Sonic fangames of NCFC 2015! Check out our video reviews of both Zonic 4 My New Life Turbo HD Remastered Edition and Sonic DL Adventure below:
NCFC 2015 is now over, but you can still download all the games from the event by going to the NCFC homepage. If you missed yesterday’s coverage of the other 3 Sonic fangames at the event then click here.
Qwerty919 has released a new version of his SatAM-inspired Sonic fangame, Sonic Nebulous 2.
If you’re unfamiliar with the game and it’s predecessor then Sonic Nebulous takes visual and atmospheric cues from the Sonic the Hedgehogs SatAM cartoon meaning its tone is much darker that many traditional Sonic fangames. The game offers a huge variety of characters to play as and a considerable effort has been made to make them all feel more unique than they did in the original Sonic Nebulous.
You can check out a new gameplay trailer below and download the new version of the game by clicking here:
The Sonic Amateur Games Expo has been on a bit of a hiatus this year due to Sonic Fan Games HQ having to relocate. Luckily some Sonic fangame action has managed to crop up at this year’s Nintendo Community Fangame Convention and we’re covering everything on offer. To kick things off we have 3 video reviews of Sonic Level Creator, Sonic and Bean in Eggland and Sonic Hexacide. Check em out below:
All these games are playable via the NCFC website so click here and get downloading!
A massive 12 minute preview of Hez’s Sonic Classic 2 fan game is now available to watch in HD on YouTube. Hez appears to be making huge progress on the game and I personally cannot wait to give it a go:
The original Sonic the Hedgehog Classic is still available to download and play on PC via this link.
