Prepare to Have Your Ears Destroyed by Super Monkey Ball: The Musical

October 24th, 2012

In what has to be one of the most bizarre advertising campaigns we’ve seen since the previous Monkey Ball one (you know, with the boobs), SEGA have revealed a collaboration with Random Encounters to release a 3 part Super Monkey Ball musical on YouTube. Yes, you heard that right. This is all in celebration of the release of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz on PS Vita.

If you feel like putting yourself through this horror then watch the first part below. Probably best you watch this alone and out of sight from other people/animals:

Happy 12th Birthday to The Sonic Stadium!

October 24th, 2012

Our rather spectacular host The Sonic Stadium is 12 years old today! Svend “Dreadknux” Joscelyne started The Sonic Stadium on the 24th of October 2000 and it has grown into the premier Sonic the Hedgehog fansite on the internet. We are very proud to be hosted by them and form a part of the TSS Network.

Without further ado, here’s our birthday message to The Sonic Stadium:

Other standout TSS moments for me include:

– Learning about the pirate Sonic game ‘Sonic 3 Fighter Sonic‘ through an article at TSS and then seeing an actual copy at a bootsale a week later! Yes, I actually bought it knowing full well that it was supposed to be terrible!
– Thoroughly enjoying Brad “Slingerland” Flick’s writing and opinion pieces. I’d love to meet the man one day; seems like a really down-to-Earth/funny guy
– The Sonic Site Awards! We always enjoyed SSA and watching the whole thing unfold. It was always exciting to see if we’d won anything!

Happy 12th Birthday to The Sonic Stadium!

This is part 1 of a 2 part edition of The Community Spotlight so make sure you come back on Thursday to see the 2nd part:

Game Grumps are Playing Shenmue

October 23rd, 2012

Have you heard of Game Grumps yet? The YouTube game show features Jontron and Egoraptor sitting down together to play games and talk rubbish. While the concept has been done a million times before, Game Grumps manages to be a cut above the rest simply because the two men are so funny to listen to.

Most of the show has featured Nintendo games up until now. Now the pair are tackling Shenmue which is already producing some funny moments like Jontron losing his cool with the controls and Egoraptor singing along with the theme that plays in the Hazuki residence.

You can watch the first part below. Please be warned that Game Grumps features bad language and adult themes:

The 2nd part is also available to watch here. This will more than likely turn into a very long series so make sure you check the Game Grumps channel for the next episode as it should go live soon.
