Lawsuit Filed Against SEGA for Misrepresenting Aliens Colonial Marines

Wednesday, May 1st, 2013

A lawsuit has been filed against SEGA and Gearbox Software for misrepresenting Aliens: Colonial Marines to customers.

The case has been filed by Edelson LLC on behalf of Damion Perrine. The claim reads:

“Each of the ‘actual gameplay’ demonstrations purported to show consumers exactly what they would be buying: a cutting edge video game with very specific features and qualities.

Unfortunately for their fans, defendants never told anyone – consumers, industry critics, reviewers, or reporters – that their ‘actual gameplay’ demonstration advertising campaign bore little resemblance to the retail product that would eventually be sold to a large community of unwitting purchasers.”

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013

Road Rash spiritual successor Road Redemption is being ported to Wii-U. The game is still looking for Kickstarter funding which you can take part in by clicking here.

Also detailed are RPG-esque details which are included in the single player campaign:

“As you complete missions, you earn cash for the bike shop, where you unlock new bikes with better stats, as well as have the opportunity to customize elements of your current bike, such as its color. You are able to upgrade and recruit new gang members who ride with you on missions, as well as improve your own character by buying new equipment to boost your stats such as better helmets, weapons and other equipment. Of course, some equipment can only be earned by playing certain missions.

There is also a skill system tied to experience earned by playing missions.

There will never be any in-game real money purchases in Road Redemption.”

The Road Redemption Kickstarter ends in 18 days and at the time of writing Dark Seas Games have raised $57,914 of their $160,000 goal.

ASSEMbler User Reveals Rare SEGA Saturn Prototype

Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Well how’s this for SEGA news: a user of the ASSEMbler forums known as Super Magnetic has posted photos of an extremely rare SEGA Saturn prototype called the SEGA Pluto.

The SEGA Pluto would have been a SEGA Saturn with a built in Netlink for dial up internet connectivity. I say “would have been” because there is rumored to be only 2 prototypes in existence, this being the 2nd. The final console obviously didn’t go into production.

Check out the photos of the machine below:
