The Sonic Amateur Games Expo is back and the show is now live. The show is running until October 7th and there’s a whole host of fan games to download on best lyncconf gaming monitors and play including Sonic 2 HD, Sonic Project Twisted, Sonic the Hedgehog 06 PC, Sonic World, and much more.
All featured games can be downloaded from the official SAGE 2017 website. SAGE is also raising money for the Child’s Play charity and donations can be made by visiting this page.
The long-awaited 2nd demo of the Sonic 2 HD fan game is now available to download from the project’s official website. You can check out a trailer for the latest build by clicking below:
Sonic 2 HD has been in development since 2008. The last build was released in 2012 and featured animation by Tom Fry and music by Tee Lopes. Both would later find fame for their work on Sonic Mania.
A new headline news video has been released that details the new features in Football Manager 2018 but in a faux-sports news fashion. It’s a cute little video that you can watch below.
The new features appearing in this year’s Football Manager are:
– new visuals in the match engine
– changes to the scouting system
– improvements to the stadium designs and match presentation
– greater depth to the sports science and tactics
Football Manager 2018 will be released on the 10th of November 2017 on PC.
A new extended 6 minute trailer of Hokuto Ga Gotoku has also gone live. This new title based on the Fist of the North Star series is being developed by the Yakuza Studio and is due for release on PS4 on the 22nd of February 2018 in Japan. Check out the new trailer by clicking below:
Hokuto Ga Gotoku is currently only due for a Japanese release. A Western release has not been confirmed at this time.
A new mobile Yakuza title called Yakuza Online is in the works for iOS, Android and PC. This new title sees you playing as a new character called Kasuga Ichiban and is a free-to-play affair with optional micro-transactions. You can see the game in action by clicking below:
Yakuza Online is due for release in Japan at some point in 2018. There is currently no word on a Western release at this time.
In addition to the extended story trailer, we also have a new 4 and a half minute gameplay trailer of Yakuza Kiwami 2 to indulge in.
This trailer showcases the game’s combat and some new mini-games that include a Yakuza take on tower defense, a new hostess management mode called Cabaret Club GP and even the bizarre SEGA Toylet urinal mini-games. Check it out below:
Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a remake of the original Yakuza 2 for PS2 and is due for release on PS4 on the 7th of December 2017 in Japan. There is currently no word on a Western release for the game.

Hardlight Studio’s next title is another Sonic the Hedgehog endless runner, but this time it’s themed around the upcoming Sonic Forces game due for release on November 7th 2017. The game is currently in a soft launch state so it’s only playable in certain regions. The game is due for a wider release soon on both iOS and Android devices. During the 2017 Tokyo Game Show, Tomoya Ohtani performed a short live set of music from Sonic Forces to promote the upcoming Sonic Team title. He was joined on stage by vocalists Jon Underdown and Nana Hatori and the performance has become infamous for Ohtani’s use of the air horn sound effect. You can watch the set by clicking below:
Sonic Forces launches worldwide on November 7th 2017 for PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
If you’ve never seen it, go and watch Red Bull Music Academy’s fascinating documentary series Diggin’ in the Carts. It interviews loads of Japanese video game composers from its earliest days and right up to the PS1 era. While lots of different composers from many different publishing houses feature, Yuzo Koshiro of Streets of Rage and Revenge of Shinobi fame features in one episode and many contemporary artists heap praise on his revolutionary dance-influenced music.
Despite the fact the series is now 3 years old, Red Bull Music Academy are reviving the Diggin’ in the Carts name for a world tour featuring composers that appeared in the original series. Yuzo Koshiro and fellow Streets of Rage composer Motohiro Kawashima are due to appear at 3 live shows that will also feature many other composers from the series. The dates for these shows are listed below:
– October 22nd 2017, Regent Theater, Los Angeles, USA
– November 17th 2017, Liquidroom, Tokyo, Japan
– November 30th 2017, Fabric, London, UK
