SEGA has announced a new VR title based on the Panzer Dragoon series, named Panzer Dragoon: Voyage Record (see what they did there?).
Via the press release for the game:

This work is a completely new work to play the episodes of the series trilogy by a new graphics that the first person view optimized for VR headsets and a new input method that likens the VR controller to the handgun of the dragon rider. We’ve finally got our first look at the Panzer Dragoon remake by MegaPixel Studio S.A.! This new version of the game is a Nintendo Switch exclusive with publishing duties being done by Forever Entertainment under license from SEGA. Check it out in action below:
Panzer Dragoon is a classic on-rails shooter from SEGA originally released on the SEGA Saturn in 1995.
In what can only be described as a surprise announcement, Forever Entertainment (responsible for titles such as Fear Effect: Sedna) have announced they are to co-create and publish remakes of SEGA classics Panzer Dragoon and Panzer Dragoon II: Zwei!
The remakes are planned to include a graphical overhaul and new gameplay features to better suit a modern audience, while maintaining the original story of the games. The first material from the game is planned to be shown in the coming months, with Panzer Dragoon: Remake planned to release in late 2019. The remakes are being produced in tandem with SEGA’s Japanese division.
We’ll keep you up to date when any further news comes out – it’s extremely exciting to see titles from the Saturn era getting some love, and in what sounds like a fairly nice package to boot.

As part of their expanding line of backwards compatible titles, Microsoft has announced SEGA’s Sonic Generations and Panzer Dragoon Orta are headed to the Xbox One this month.
Sonic Generations is being made available today, and will include enhancements for Xbox One X users – notably, it now runs at 4K (check that out here). Perhaps more notable though is Orta’s appearance on the console; it’s SEGA’s first contribution to the original Xbox backward compatibility for Xbox One. SEGA supporting the feature relatively early in its life may give some hope to those who’ve been looking out for a possible Jet Set Radio Future re-release – as theoretically, it could be brought to the Xbox One in the same way as Orta.
Panzer Dragoon Orta launches for Xbox One backwards compatibility on April 17th. Also of note, while not technically SEGA related, is that Blinx the Time Sweeper is being added to the service too. Blink was the brainchild of Naoto Ohshima, the creator of Sonic and NiGHTS; it might be worth a look for fans of those series.

The original soundtracks for Panzer Dragoon, Panzer Dragoon II, Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Panzer Dragoon Orta are now available on iTunes in most territories, including Europe and the United States. In the UK, the soundtracks are priced at £10.99 each, with the exception of Saga (priced at £11.99). They’re also available in Japan (with Saga listed under its title in that region, Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG).
SEGA Japan has mentioned ‘various distribution sites’, though as of right now iTunes appears to be the only site carrying them. However, Spotify users may be interested in Brave Wave Productions’ arranged release of Saga’s soundtrack, which is currently available on the platform.
