Eurogamer have reached out to SEGA for a comment regarding internet rumours that Aliens: Colonial Marines has been cancelled for Wii-U.
Their response? “It’s not true. We haven’t announced the release date for it yet but that’s it.”
Rumours began last night when Kotaku writer Jason Schreier left a comment saying, “We heard from a tipster about a month ago that the Wii U version had been ‘postponed indefinitely’. We reached out to Sega, and they denied it. I’ll let you guys fill in the blanks there. :)”
SEGA had previously announced that the game was due out in the “launch window” for the Wii-U which lasts up to March. Fingers crossed this is still the case.
NeoGAF users have also noticed that the game’s Amazon listing has also disappeared.
SEGA have permanently reduced the prices to a select number of PSP titles that are available to download from the Playstation Network. This is a North American deal only. The prices are below:

Toshihiro Nagoshi has revealed some details about the next Yakuza title in an interview with Dengeki PlayStation.
According to the big boss there will be significant improvements to the battle system with the overall feel of the game becoming more of a “physical experience”.
It has also been revealed that Yakuza 5 was the last title to be released on PS3. This means the series could now be coming to next generation consoles.
An ex-Gearbox employee has revealed that the majority of Aliens: Colonial Marines was not developed by Gearbox Software.
The un-named employee has said:
“Hate to say it, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up too high for Colonial Marines. I used to work at Gearbox, and the development of that game has been a total train wreck, going on what, six years now? Gearbox isn’t even making the game, except for the multiplayer. Primary development was outsourced to TimeGate Studios, which has a less than stellar past.”
TimeGate Studios are known for the game Section 8: Prejudice and various DLC packs for FEAR.
Ex Microsoft executive Joachim Kempin has revealed that at one point Microsoft considered buying out SEGA before licensing out Windows CE for use in SEGA’s Dreamcast:
“There was always talk maybe we buy Sega or something like that. That never materialised, but we were actually able to license them what they call Windows CE, the younger brother of Windows, to run on their system and make that their platform.”
Ultimately, Bill Gates pushed to launch a console of his own and the original X-Box was born:
“For Bill this wasn’t enough, he didn’t think that Sega had enough muscle to eventually stop Sony so we did our own Xbox thing. There were some talks but it never materialised because Sega was a very different bird. It was always Sony and Nintendo, right? And Nintendo had some financial trouble at that point in time, so Sony came out with the PlayStation and bang! They took off, and everyone else was left behind.”
Famitsu have discovered a teaser website containing 3 images connected to SEGA showing fantasy landscape artwork with the date 02.12 plastered over them.
You can access the website by clicking here and see the images below:
Could SEGA be announcing a new game? The artwork doesn’t appear to be reminiscent of any current SEGA IP so this could be a completely brand new IP as well.
