Despite negative critical reception, the public have chosen Aliens: Colonial Marines as the number one best selling UK game last week. It’s also the year’s biggest selling number one game so far.
Other SEGA games in the All Format Top 40 are Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed at number 9, Football Manager 2013 at number 18 and Mario & Sonic: London 2012 Olympic Games at number 31.
The arcade iteration of SEGA’s Japanese smash hit Hatsune Miku: Project Diva series is being location tested in a Round 1 arcade in Puente Hills, California.
The 2 machines are available for public play until March 18th. Hopefully this means SEGA has realised there’s huge Western appeal for this series and we might finally get to see it being localised for Western audiences.
The unreleased 32X game Virtua Hamster could now be yours thanks to eBay seller “gametimevault” who are selling a prototype cartridge. Bidding is currently at $108.49 so if you’re serious about owning an extremely rare piece of SEGA history then you better be prepared to shell out some serious dough.
Eurogamer have reached out to SEGA for a comment regarding internet rumours that Aliens: Colonial Marines has been cancelled for Wii-U.
Their response? “It’s not true. We haven’t announced the release date for it yet but that’s it.”
Rumours began last night when Kotaku writer Jason Schreier left a comment saying, “We heard from a tipster about a month ago that the Wii U version had been ‘postponed indefinitely’. We reached out to Sega, and they denied it. I’ll let you guys fill in the blanks there. :)”
SEGA had previously announced that the game was due out in the “launch window” for the Wii-U which lasts up to March. Fingers crossed this is still the case.
NeoGAF users have also noticed that the game’s Amazon listing has also disappeared.
