Those (un)lucky Japanese! Shadow the Hedgehog has been re-released on the Japanese PSN store. The game is a part of the PS2 Classics range and can be purchased for 1200 yen (about £8).
Shadow the Hedgehog is the notoriously ill-advised Shadow-centric action platformer which allows you to pick up and use enemy weapons like swords and most controversially, guns.
The PS2 version of the game suffers from a wildly fluctuating framerate that makes the game a chore to play. If you’re that desperate to play the game I would advise the superior Gamecube version.
Check out the brand new trailers for Hatsune Miku Project Diva F which contains the first look at the Western releases’ gameplay as well as a 3DS specific trailer for Sonic: Lost World:
SEGA will be demoing the following games at this year’s E3:
Sonic: Lost World (Wii-U, 3DS)
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse (XBLA, PSN, PC)
Company of Heroes 2 (PC)
Total War: Rome II (PC)
The Cave (mobile)
Hatsune Miku Project Diva F is getting a Western release! The game will release on PS3 and digitally via the Playstation Network. The game will launch in August 2013 and a demo will arrive on the PSN store June 12th. That’s next week!
Associate brand manager Aaron Webber has said, “Your voices helped make this happen. Miku and SEGA fans, this is your moment. We’re thrilled to bring this title out for you, and we’re counting on your support. Tell Your World!”
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is getting the full HD remake treatment this Summer on XBLA, PSN and PC. Check out this fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the development of the 2013 remake in the below video:
Aliens: Colonial Marines may have been a critical flop but that still hasn’t stopped people buying it. SEGA have managed to shift 1.3 million copies of the game across Xbox 360, PC and PS3 which is a similar amount to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
Another great seller is Football Manager 2013 which has managed to ship 940,000 units on PC alone. Well done Sports Interactive!
In other news SEGA have revealed they are publishing 5 PS Vita games and 7 Wii-U games this year. It hasn’t been revealed what the titles are but that’s a lot of SEGA for Vita and Wii-U owners.
Now here’s an interesting development! Backbone Entertainment responsible for the SEGA Vintage Collection, SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection and SEGA Mega Drive Collection for PSP pitched new Streets of Rage and ESWAT games to SEGA.
They were unfortunately unsuccessful in their endevour but concept art for both titles has now been leaked online. Check it out:
SEGA and Gearbox Software have commented on the lawsuit being filed against them for misrepresenting Aliens: Colonial Marines in pre-release trailers.
SEGA have said, “Sega cannot comment on specifics of ongoing litigation. But we are confident that the lawsuit is without merit and we will defend it vigorously.”
Gearbox have said, “Attempting to wring a class action lawsuit out of a demonstration is beyond meritless. We continue to support the game, and will defend the rights of entertainers to share their works-in-progress without fear of frivolous litigation.”
A lawsuit has been filed against SEGA and Gearbox Software for misrepresenting Aliens: Colonial Marines to customers.
The case has been filed by Edelson LLC on behalf of Damion Perrine. The claim reads:
“Each of the ‘actual gameplay’ demonstrations purported to show consumers exactly what they would be buying: a cutting edge video game with very specific features and qualities.
Unfortunately for their fans, defendants never told anyone – consumers, industry critics, reviewers, or reporters – that their ‘actual gameplay’ demonstration advertising campaign bore little resemblance to the retail product that would eventually be sold to a large community of unwitting purchasers.”
