The Sonic the Hedgehog Encylo-Speed-Ia is a comprehensive history book about the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise written by Ian Flynn to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The book was released on the 16th December 2021 and features 287 pages of content. Every Sonic game released up until the point of publication is featured, alongside supplemental material about Sonic mobile games, Sonic compilations and Sonic appearances in other franchises. The book was published by Dark Horse Books and available in hardcover, eBook, a Scholastic Book Fairs edition and a Deluxe Edition which is photographed for this article. The Deluxe Edition features different cover artwork and 2 lithographic prints featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and Dr. Eggman, drawn by Yuji Uekawa. Both the prints and book are housed in an exclusive hardcover slipcase.
