NiGHTS into dreams Now Available for PC Via SteamDecember 17th, 2012The recent port of NiGHTS into dreams… for XBLA and PSN has now arrived on PC via Steam! The game comes in a similar format to the XBLA/PSN versions by including enhanced HD graphics but also including the function to change the graphics and resolution to the original SEGA Saturn version. The expansion game Christmas NiGHTS is also included. You can buy the game from the Steam service now for £5.99 or via this page: Download page on Steam [Source: SEGA Blog] SEGA Releases Three Rings Developed iOS/Android Game ‘Spellwood’December 7th, 2012SEGA have just launched a new iOS/Android title called ‘Spellwood’. The game was developed by Spiral Knights developers Three Rings. The game is a fantasy themed take on the Scrabble/Words With Friends formula and is available for $1.99 in the US and £1.49 in the UK. Check out the launch trailer below: [Source: SEGA Blogs] SEGA and Creative Assembly Announce Partnership With Games Workshop to Create Warhammer GamesDecember 6th, 2012SEGA and The Creative Assembly have announced a partnership with Games Workshop that will allow them to develop Warhammer-themed video games. Tim Heaton, the Studio Director at The Creative Assembly said, “With this year being our 25th anniversary it seems fitting for us to embark on such a dream project with such a well-established partner. The incredibly rich and detailed Warhammer world is something we grew up with, and has left an indelible imprint on us as both designers and gamers. We’ll be doing the Warhammer universe justice in a way that has never been attempted before. We’re bringing those 25 years of experience and expertise in extremely high-scoring games to bear, delivering a Warhammer experience that videogamers will absolutely love.” An untitled Warhammer game will now be under development by The Creative Assembly along with Total War: Rome II and an untitled Alien game. There’s more footage of the game in the new character trailer below; check it out: [Source: SEGA News.net] Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Now Available for PS Vita (Digital Only) UPDATEDecember 5th, 2012UPDATE After only a few hours the game has been removed from PSN. It will now go live on December 7th along with the physical release. ORIGINAL STORY The PS Vita version of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed has just been launched on the PSN store. The game is available to purchase and download for £34.99 in the UK. A physical release is expected on Friday. The product listing reveals the following features: – Ad Hoc Mode 2-8 Players There’s no word at this time what the motion sensor and touchscreen are used for but I’m guessing the motion sensor is used as an alternative control scheme (tilt to steer). [Source: The Sonic Stadium] Fan Scene: Sonic Fusion Discontinued, Final Version Released for DownloadDecember 5th, 2012Felik’s rather magnificent fangame Sonic Fusion has bitten the bullet and the final version of the game has been released for download. You can download the game via this link. Sonic Fusion was a really interesting blend of old school 2D Sonic platforming with a new school set of techniques like homing attacks and boosting. It also features a great mash-up of graphics sourced from various Sonic games like Sonic 3D Blast and Sonic Advance. You can watch a speedrun of the Fatal Factory stage below: [Source: Sonic Retro Forums] Video Spotlight: Cancelled Streets of Rage “Reimagining” Footage Leaks Online UPDATEDecember 5th, 2012UPDATE A new version of the leaked Streets of Rage reimagining footage has been uploaded which now includes sound. The prototype footage features a playable game and is not pre-rendered. Ruffian Games business and management chief Gary Liddon (who also uploaded this new video) has also revealed more about the game: “It was something we built very rapidly and represents pre-pre-pre-pre (lots of pres) pre-Alpha quality. Even so it has a certain charm 🙂 What’s the story behind it all? Like a lot of developers we work on a lot of different prototypes, they’re just not usually shown in public. In this case an older version of the same video was leaked last week which came as a bit of a surprise if I’m honest. As it had no sound I thought there wouldn’t be any harm sharing a version with audio. Beyond that there’s not a lot more I can say unfortunately :)” Sean Noonan has also chimed in to answer a question about why the game was cancelled. [Source: SEGAShiro] Model 2 Fighters Now Available in the WestNovember 29th, 2012The 3 model 2 fighters Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic the Fighters and Fighting Vipers are now available for Western gamers. The titles are available on XBLA and PSN for 400MSP and $4.99 respectively. UK pricing is £3.69 per game and European pricing is €4.49. Additional features include widescreen support and the inclusion of “lost” character Honey the Cat in Sonic the Fighters. [Source: SEGABits & The Sonic Stadium] Jet Set Radio Now Available for iOSNovember 29th, 2012The latest Jet Set Radio port that has appeared on XBLA and PSN is now available on iOS in New Zealand. A Western release is expected at midnight tonight. The iOS version will be available for £2.99 in the UK and $4.99 in the US.
