Fight over 20 boss enemies in 16 levels. In addition to the so-called “Award Trophy System”, there will also be an internet highscore list in which your performance can compete against each other worldwide.

Mega Drive heavy metal covers band MegaDriver have been uploading these cool little ‘Game Metal Play’ videos which feature a re-arranged version of a song featured on a specific SEGA game but actually inserted into the game. We featured the Outrun cover a little while ago but since then MegaDriver have released Streets of Rage and M.U.S.H.A. covers which sound brilliant. Check them out:

Jemal, the bass player of Sega Megadrive Band has contacted us divulging some more information about the band.
The band are essentially the product of a bet. The band are friendly with one of the festival organisers who challenged them to come up with a 30 minute set in a day to secure a slot on the main stage. The band managed this and true to the organiser’s word they are now playing the main stage.
Despite starting out off the back of a dare, the band stress that they are passionate about Mega Drive music and want to take a professional approach to playing in the band because they truly appreciate the composing of musicians like Yuzo Koshiro and Masato Nakamura.

Crooked Ways Music Festival takes place at Pontefract Park in West Yorkshire on the 1st of June 2013. The line-up for the festival was announced today and there’s a curious inclusion on the main stage. The band we’re intrigued by are called Sega Megadrive Band and as their Facebook page suggests they are a band that “cover tunes from old Sega Megadrive games such as ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ and ‘Streets of Rage’.”
We are having considerable difficulty finding out any more information about the band then what is listed on their Facebook page. They don’t have any music available for streaming and there doesn’t appear to be any video available of the band on YouTube. How does an almost unknown SEGA covers band go from this level of obscurity to playing a rock festival with The Enemy and Peter Hook?
Japan exclusive arcade title Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade is receiving an update on March 19th which adds 3 new songs; 39, Senbonzakura and a rather spectacular After Burner II remix. Check the video below to hear clips of the 3 songs in action:

The Japanese exclusive item is 12,600 yen which roughly translates to £88.18. Pricey.
Ron Gilbert, the man behind The Secret of Monkey Island and most recently The Cave, has left Double Fine to pursue his career in video games elsewhere.
Gilbert has said; “I want to thank all the amazing people at Double Fine for all their hard work on The Cave. It was a true pleasure to work with every one of them over the past two years. So much fun. I will miss them all. And of course to Tim for creating the opportunity to come there and make The Cave.”

Game Gear RPG classic Crystal Warriors has been re-rated by the Australian Classification Board which means the game could well be due for a digital re-release.
No platforms have been announced but our money goes on a 3DS eShop release. More on this as we get it.
After SEGA’s acquisition of Relic Entertainment, it appears they’ve taken their in-development project Company of Heroes 2. SEGA will now release the game in North America and Europe on June 25th for PC. Full press release below:
