Titanscreed’s Community Spotlight is a brilliant YouTube channel where Titanscreed interviews Sonic & SEGA community members and highlights interesting things happening in the community. Series one has now ended so Titanscreed has done a quick VLOG which talks about what to expect from season two. He also shares his thoughts regarding the recent Summer of Sonic event in Brighton. Check it out; there’s some interesting news regarding some collaborative work we’ll also be helping with:
NiGHTS into Dreams…, the much-loved SEGA Saturn high-score flying game is being re-released for X-Box Live Arcade, Playstation Network and PC download. There is no release date at this time but an announcement trailer reveals that the game is being remastered with high definition graphics and a widescreen display. The original Saturn version is also included.
The History of Sonic book which was recently released by French publisher Pix N Love is being translated into English and being published by Udon for North America. Pre-orders are available currently through Amazon.com for $32.12. The SEGA Blog also has a few scans of select pages with the English translation on show. This is certainly looking like a really comprehensive package for the Sonic super-fan so get saving!
At yesterday’s Summer of Sonic event, Steve Lycett revealed the inclusion of NiGHTS and Reala from NiGHTS into Dreams as playable characters in Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing Transformed. Both characters take the form of vehicles with a Nightopian and a Nightmaren riding on their backs.
Also revealed was a NiGHTS themed track. The track is themed around Spring Valley with additional areas of Nightmare that include appearances from the bosses Gillwing and Wizeman.
So another Summer of Sonic comes to a close. The annual Sonic convention created by fans and run by fans was hit with a major stroke of bad luck when the original venue suffered from a power-cut which led to an electrical fire. Luckily, an alternative venue was acquired just in the nick of time and the convention was moved from the Hove Centre to the Brighton Centre in just 3 hours.
Despite the set-back, this year’s Summer of Sonic turned into one of the best and everyone who staffed it did an amazing job. Hopefully, all our attendees had a fantastic time!
Here’s some footage we managed to shoot while we weren’t busy elsewhere; enjoy!
This is the first video in a new series where we look at great Mega-CD games (and trust me, they are few and far between). In this video we take a look at Shadow of the Beast II by Reflections:

It’s Summer of Sonic week! In the first of 3 interviews, Titanscreed gets some of the volunteers and minds behind Summer of Sonic (including us!) to discuss the history of the event and some of their favourite moments from past events. Click below to listen in:
Gunlord is the latest game from indie developers NG:Dev.Team who are better known for Last Hope and Fast Striker. In a slight move away from the shoot-em-up genre, they present us with an action game in the Turrican vain.
Pier Solar is a rather fantastic indie RPG that was released for the Mega Drive last year. As a companion piece to the game, Watermelon Games have released a 4 disc soundtrack boxset. We received our copy this morning so we thought we’d give you some insight as to what you get for your money:
