In a conversation with Famitsu, Takashi Iizuka has promised Sonic: Lost World will be “different from everything before”. Iizuka-san has gone on record to say that
“…Sonic Lost World, which will feature graphics that fit the game’s content, nice controllability, and a new 360 degree ‘Tube Stage’ that has yet to be seen. We are thinking of showing off a new Sonic that is different from everything before.”
Yes, I believe some people may ask ‘Will you be able to show how fun Sonic can be using a 360 degree stage?’ just like how some asked ‘Will it really be possible to have it in 3D?’ which was the kind of question that helped in the creation of Sonic Adventure.”
Iizuka-san made some further comments about the challenging development of Lost World:
“Yes, I believe some people may ask ‘Will you be able to show how fun Sonic can be using a 360 degree stage?’ just like how some asked ‘Will it really be possible to have it in 3D?’ which was the kind of question that helped in the creation of Sonic Adventure. I believe Sonic Lost World will deliver a new experience for everyone. It will also have data transfer between the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, so please look forward to it.”

In what has to be the most dramatically British headline ever, SEGA Amusements have unveiled a new attraction at the Butlins holiday park in Minehead.
The new attraction is called the XD Theater and it’s a “4D” theater experience which means you watch a short film and at certain points you get air blown at your face or there’s a spray of watery mist.
There’s no word as to what the short films are that play during the XD Theater but the attraction is open now for visitors of the Minehead Butlins holiday park.

The 3DS re-release of Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master has some additional features which have just been detailed.
Along with the obvious stereoscopic visuals, quick save and round select features have been added. You can also choose to play either the Western or Japanese versions of the game.
The big addition is the inclusion of assigning control to an individual button instead of sharing them accross the Mega Drive original’s 3 button format. You can now assign the commands for jump, close range attack, shuriken attack, defend and ninjutsu to specific buttons.

Prope’s NiGHTS-like Wii and 3DS game Rodea the Sky Soldier is still due for release despite being announced in 2010. We even spoke to Yuji Naka back in 2011 and he confirmed that the finished game had been submitted to Kadowaka Games which meant we all assumed it was almost time to go gold.
Yoshimi Yasuda who is the president of Kadowaka Games has revealed that Kadowaka who are porting the Wii version to the 3DS were having trouble adapting the control scheme. Yasuda also said that the version is about 70% finished and that there will be more information in the near future.

SEGA Japan have been teasing Project 575 for quite a while now, but we finally have the full details on what it is. Project 575 is actually 2 separate games that work off each other.
The first is called Song Composer 575 and it takes the form of an iOS app. The app allows you to create songs with the Vocaloid software. It introduces two new voices called Azuki Masaoka and Matcha Kobayashi. You can also interact with the new characters by watching them dance, dressing them up in different outfit and enabling an augmented reality feature which allows you to take photos with the characters.
The PS Vita game is called Song Builder 575 and takes the form of a rhythm/puzzle game. As the songs play you have to read the lyrics and insert the correct syllables in fill in the blanks. Whatever syllable you choose will be sung by the in-game character giving you customisation options for the song. Song Builder 575 will also be loaded with songs created with Song Composer 575 but only the highest rated songs will make the cut.
