A couple of days ago a LinkedIn job adverstisement for Hardlight Studio mentioned the game ‘Sonic Dash’ as a recent success for the studio. After a lot of speculation that this could be a new mobile game from Hardlight we finally have the official word from the studio:
“As so many of you have asked, yes we are working on a new mobile game.
And yes, it is Sonic Dash.
We’re very excited to announce more details very soon.”
So that settles that then. Hardlight Studio previously developed the new version of Sonic Jump.

SEGA have released their Hedgehog Day post. Hedgehog day marks the American release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and is usually the day when SEGA announce or tease information about new Sonic titles.
The post includes the following letters are in bold:
e r n i r e h d g r
Commenters have noticed that those letters are an anagram for “red herring”. Have SEGA duped us all or is it a double bluff? Stay tuned to find out!

The Sonic Stadium have revealed that “sources close to SEGA” have revealed to them that a new Sonic game will be either announced or simply teased next month with an estimated release date of September 2013.
There’s an awful lot of details about the game from this mystery source. We’ve detailed the key points below:
* It will be released on Wii U, PS3, 360, 3DS, PS Vita, PC, and “Next gen” consoles
* PC and PS Vita versions will be identical aside from the graphical differences, while the 3DS version will be another Sonic Rush styled game
* Similar to Sonic Unleashed (Daytime), Sonic Colours and Sonic Generations where gameplay switches between full 3D movement and 2D side-scrolling sections
* Each route in a stage will lead to one of two or three exits at the end that will each take you to a different stage
* The developers are trying for a least 20 diferent stages, not including boss battles
* “You might unlock Knuckles in any one of three stages. Sometimes, if you already have a character that would be unlocked first, a different one may be unlocked. Altogether we’re looking at about 10 different characters to play with, and no, Sonic isn’t getting any new friends.”
* Each character will have their own skills to help them progress in stages easier where others will have more difficulty or simply cannot ala Sonic 3 & Knuckles and the Sonic Advance series
* The 3DS version will be “similar in idea, but smaller in scope”. The source says it looks like every stage will only ever branch off into 2 stages.
It’s snowing and London and the Internet is throwing a wobbler! However, we think snow is pretty awesome so we thought we’d celebrate with a bumper edition of SEGA Tunes featuring loads of themes from different snow stages in the Sonic series! Click the links below to enjoy some wintery fun!
The 18 minute fan film directed by Eddie Lebron is marketed as a concept piece to prove a Sonic film is achievable. It also features Jaleel White voicing Sonic the Hedgehog for the first time since Sonic Underground in 2000. Check it out below:

“It was a tecnnical issue on our end that prevented us from exporting the film. The film should now go live at 6pm EST if not earlier :)”
Keep your eyes on SonicFanFilm.com for the imminent release some time today!
“Have you ever bought a game you were really excited about only to be disappointed? I’m sure we all have. Have you ever tried to convince yourself that said game is actually better than you think it is? Perhaps. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (now known as SASRT from here on) fits into both categories.”
