While we’ve added placeholder entries in the index for a large amount of releases, we’ve actually added proper entries which you can click on to display the full tracklists for Crush 40’s 2 Nights 2 Remember, the Bayonetta Original Soundtrack, Blue Blur: Sonic Generations Original Soundtrack, Stereotype’s Electrace Pulseman and the Hatsune Miku -Project Diva- Original Song Collection. Scans of the artwork will also be coming soon.
Also, some of you may have noticed the links to artwork in a few of the entries are currently leading to 404 pages. This is because the scans were sadly lost during the TSS server crash last year. However, these will return in due course so please be patient!
I’d like to draw your attention to the latest episode of Shay Says. If you’re unfamiliar with the series then it’s a documentary-style video games show that deconstructs certain games of gaming franchises in a similar way to Egoraptor’s Sequelitis.
For the latest episode, Shay is taking a detailed look at the gameplay mechanics of the Sonic franchise (and when I say detailed, I mean detailed). 2 more episodes will follow that look at other aspects of the franchise.
While I wouldn’t normally recommend watching an almost feature length video about a games franchise, Shay has some incredibly interesting things to say about what works and what doesn’t regarding Sonic gameplay mechanics. He’s also one of the few people I’ve seen actively suggest alternative mechanics that might just improve the experience.
If you have the time then please take a look at the below video because it’s an extremely well made and unbiased look at what makes the Sonic franchise work so well and what doesn’t.
First4Figures are teasing 2 Sonic Generations themed Sonic statues. The first features Modern Sonic on his snowboard as per the City Escape slope sections and the second features Classic Sonic on his skateboard also from the same stage. Check out the teaser trailer below:
First and foremost, this post is not safe for work and extremely adult-orientated. We cool?
So this has to be one of the strangest things we’ve been exposed to. This Sonic Generations mod changes Sonic’s character model to an erect penis. Hilarity ensues:
Sonic Retro community members Dario FF, Twilightzoney and Chimera have released a mod for Sonic Generations PC that allows players to enjoy 8 of the Sonic Unleashed day stages in the Sonic Generations engine. This allows for 60fps play and 1080p presentation as long as your PC is powerful enough. Check out the launch trailer below:
YouTube user Sarsion is working on a Sonic Generations mod which recreates all of Sonic 1 using the Generations engine. While the mod isn’t particularly far in development at the moment, the soundtrack is complete and available for download now.
The soundtrack is titled South Island: Classic and it was arranged and remixed by NicoCW. You can download the whole album for free via this link: CLICK HERE
You can also see a trailer for the mod below which explains the whole project in more detail. WARNING: Bad language
20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog! That’s a bit of a mad concept, isn’t it? What better way to celebrate it then with an anniversary game! Sonic Generations is here to do just that, but is it a game that celebrates Sonic’s history in style or does it miss the mark? Lucky we reviewed it so you can find out!
Wanna bag yourself a set of 6 classic Sonic figurines? Then head over to Plus XP where past SEGA Driven writer Helen Doherty is holding a Sonic Generations themed competition!
All you have to do is submit a photo that you feel sums up the theme of Sonic Generations (ie the clash of generations). Full details on how to submit your photo and who to send it to can be found over at Plus XP so click here to be taken straight there.
Now get creative and good luck to everyone involved!
