It’s been a long time since Game Grumps have played anything SEGA-related, but recently Arin and Danny got stuck into cult trap-em-up ‘Night Trap’ for the Mega-CD. The 2 part series ends with a finale you might not have been expecting:

Black Hole Assault is a Mega-CD title released in October 1992. The game is a one-on-one fighter with anime-styled cut-scenes that contain the game’s plot. Interestingly, a PC Engine version was released in July 1993 and contains different dialogue in its’ cut-scenes.
In the following video, we take a look at the cut-scenes from both versions of the game and showcase the differences.
In our latest addition to the SEGADriven YouTube Channel we take a look at our Mega-CD collection and answer questions proposed to us by our Twitter followers. Check it out below:

Star Strike and Bug Blasters are 2 Mega-CD games released long after the console’s demise. Their original print ocurred in 2001 in an extremely limited European run of 5 copies each by Good Deal Games.
A user called mr_gibbage over at Retro Collect has managed to secure the rights to the games and has produced a much larger run of 100 copies which is available to purchase from eBay now. The games are on-rails/FMV shooters in the same vain of games like Cobra Command and Sewer Shark.
1UP have released a special article to mark the 20th anniversary of the North American release of the Mega-CD (known as the SEGA-CD in that territory). It’s a cool little read and they name a handful of their favourite games, some of which are US exclusive.
Subscribers to our YouTube channel will know I’m a big fan of the Mega-CD and love collecting for it. It’s a home to my favourite Sonic game ever and there’s a certain allure to collecting for it as the games are usually quite experimental in nature.
This is the first video in a new series where we look at great Mega-CD games (and trust me, they are few and far between). In this video we take a look at Shadow of the Beast II by Reflections:
