Friday, May 10th, 2013

Aliens: Colonial Marines may have been a critical flop but that still hasn’t stopped people buying it. SEGA have managed to shift 1.3 million copies of the game across Xbox 360, PC and PS3 which is a similar amount to Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.

Another great seller is Football Manager 2013 which has managed to ship 940,000 units on PC alone. Well done Sports Interactive!

Road Redemption Being Ported to Wii-U

Tuesday, April 23rd, 2013

Road Rash spiritual successor Road Redemption is being ported to Wii-U. The game is still looking for Kickstarter funding which you can take part in by clicking here.

Also detailed are RPG-esque details which are included in the single player campaign:

“As you complete missions, you earn cash for the bike shop, where you unlock new bikes with better stats, as well as have the opportunity to customize elements of your current bike, such as its color. You are able to upgrade and recruit new gang members who ride with you on missions, as well as improve your own character by buying new equipment to boost your stats such as better helmets, weapons and other equipment. Of course, some equipment can only be earned by playing certain missions.

There is also a skill system tied to experience earned by playing missions.

There will never be any in-game real money purchases in Road Redemption.”

The Road Redemption Kickstarter ends in 18 days and at the time of writing Dark Seas Games have raised $57,914 of their $160,000 goal.

Aliens: Colonial Marines Now Officially Cancelled for Wii-U

Friday, April 5th, 2013

Aliens: Colonial Marines’ Wii-U appearance has been cancelled after SEGA quietly confirmed the cancellation to Kotaku.

Aliens: Colonial Marines for Wii-U was under development at Demiurge Studios as opposed to Gearbox Software who developed the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The Wii-U version was going to be a much different beast entirely and was going to utilise the gamepad for exclusive motion tracker action. Unfortunately we can only wonder what could have been.

Much like the other versions really.

Has the Wii-U Version of Aliens: Colonial Marines Been Cancelled?

Thursday, April 4th, 2013

The Wii-U version of Aliens: Colonial Marines has missed its’ launch window. The game was supposed to be released by the 31st of March as per comment from SEGA. When questioned about the release this morning, SEGA responded with a simple “no comment”.

Aliens: Colonial Marines on the Wii-U is being developed by Demiurge Studios and is expected to be somewhat different to the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Will the game see the light of day or has the negative reception already received by the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 versions changed SEGA’s stance on the Wii-U release?

More on this as we get it.
