A surprise release from Data Discs has just been revealed! While the label had previously lead us to believe their next release would be the Panzer Dragoon soundtrack, the label has revealed a vinyl release for both the original Golden Axe and Golden Axe II soundtracks. Available on black, translucent gold and a limited edition translucent gold with purple swatches variant, the new release will go on sale this Saturday the 27th of August. Also included are 2 lithographic prints of the Japanese artwork.

The new SEGA Mega Drive Classics Hub launched yesterday and we did a short video showing what the hub offers with a particular focus on the new mod support:
SEGA Europe has revealed a new collection of Mega Drive titles for Steam. The new collection is called SEGA Mega Drive Classics Hub and the main addition is that it wraps the games in a lovely nineties bedroom aesthetic that you can also customise. Additional games will be able to purchase in-game and any existing SEGA Mega Drive Classics you already own will be automatically added to the hub.
SEGA Mega Drive Hub includes the following features:
– Steam Workshop support that allows you to customise games and share them with other users
– Spot on emulation
– Local co-op on supported games
– Optional graphical filters
– Save at any point
– Full controller and keyboard support
Games that will be available for the hub include Dynamite Headdy, Alien Soldier, the Sonic series, the Golden Axe series, the Phantasy Star series and many more that are detailed on the official website.

The next vinyl release from Data Discs is a double LP pressing of the Streets of Rage 2 soundtrack.
This edition of the soundtrack has been newly remastered in collaboration with Yuzo Koshiro himself and will feature 4 exclusive demos and unused tracks. A limited edition pressing will feature a clear record with a smoke effect and red splatter for £24.99. There are also variants featuring just the clear record with smoke effect (also for £24.99) and a standard black variant with a lower price of £22.99.
Pre-orders for the release will start on the 27th of February and the records are expected to ship in early April. You can preview the artwork and a few tracks on Data Discs’ online store.
