The SEGA Saturn 3D Control Pad was released alongside NiGHTS into dreams… and its additional analogue stick is required for the nuanced control of the game’s flying protagonist. Many games support it and there’s a switch to allow you to use the d-pad or the analogue stick as required. The controller’s lead is actually modular and can be removed for storage. There were no other peripherals that could lock into the port where the lead attaches but the controller’s design would be adapted for the Dreamcast controller.
