6 Button Mega Drive Control Pad (Model Number MK-1653-50)
The official 6 button controller was developed by SEGA to support the growing popularity of fighting games that used more command inputs than most of the other games on the market. For example, Street Fighter II requires weak, medium and strong buttons for both punches and kicks, hence the need for 6 buttons. SEGA have greatly improved the form factor over the original 3 button controller. The 6 button controller is now a little bit smaller and much rounder which conforms to the palms of your hands better. A mode button has been added to the right shoulder to allow you to switch to a 3 button configuration if the game requires it.
