KTX Software Dev’s Leona’s Tricky Adventures has failed to meet its’ Kickstarter goal. The indie Dreamcast title is now looking for funding via its’ own website which also offers standard versions of the game for Dreamcast and Amiga which are due for release much sooner than the special editions.
The Kickstarter campaign’s exclusives are also available in much smaller quantities via the website as well. These will release a little later than the standard versions.
If you still want to fund a cool-looking indie title for the Dreamcast then you might want to put some money down here.
We’ve spoken about Freedom Planet in the past as the game has been doing the rounds in the Sonic community for quite some time.
However, Strife (the developer) has now taken the game to the next step and is seeking funding using Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight.
At the time of writing the game has smashed its’ funding goal of $2000 with an impressive total of $7580. However, with 25 days to go you can still get involved with one of the more impressive SEGA-inspired projects out there.
Senile Team, the indie developers responsible for the fantastic Rush Rush Rally Racing, have just released a free downloadable platformer for the Dreamcast called… wait for it…
Polyko’s Super Jelly Bean Quest in the Sketchbook of Illusion.
Bit of a mouthful eh?
The game is a simple platformer that can be downloaded from Senile Team’s website for nothing. The file contains a disc image that must be burned with a package like Discjuggler to play on your Dreamcast.

Gunlord is the latest game from indie developers NG:Dev.Team who are better known for Last Hope and Fast Striker. In a slight move away from the shoot-em-up genre, they present us with an action game in the Turrican vain.
DUX, the 2D shoot-em-up released by Hucast on Dreamcast in 2009 is getting a sequel called Redux: Dark Matters and the developers have taken to Kickstarter in order to get the project the funding it needs.
The goal of the Kickstarter is to bring the game to XBLA, PSN and Steam through the sale of a limited edition Dreamcast version. This version will also come boxed with a new version of DUX called DUX 1.5 which features additional improvements over its’ original release.
Also being made available is a 4 disc boxset of the soundtrack featuring music composed by Andre Neumann and remixes by the legendary Chris Huelsbeck of Turrican fame.
The game will also be released on iOS/iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch in July this year. The Dreamcast release is scheduled for December while the release on Steam, XBLA and PSN is tentative as it all relies on the Kickstarter campaign.
Dreamcast top-down racer Rush Rush Rally Racing will be getting a WiiWare release on the 19th of April in the EU. The game will set you back 900 points.
No release date has been set for US Wii owners at this time but Senile Team have assured fans that they’re ‘doing the best we can to get one as soon as possible’.
WaterMelon Games have opened a new website called Magical Game Factory. The developers of Pier Solar (the Mega Drive RPG released in 2011) are allowing users to invest in game ideas using a GEMS system on the website. The most popular game ideas will then be considered for development by WaterMelon Games. Not only will investors help fund the development of a game, but they’ll also be given access to pre-order the game early and even receive a special ‘Investor Version’ of the finished game once it’s complete.
Gun Lord, the new game being developed for Dreamcast by NG:DEV.TEAM now has a fully functioning website which you can access HERE.
From the site we’ve learned that the release date will be the 15th of January 2012 and the game will be available in both regular and special editions that contain the soundtrack on CD.
A new trailer has also been released which you can check out below:
