Almost 9 years after its initial release in arcades, AM2’s mech action game, Border Break is finally getting a home console port for the PS4.
Border Break first released for SEGA’s RingEdge arcade board in 2009 and despite receiving many reiterations, has stayed arcade exclusive until now. While there is no firm release date at the moment, SEGA Japan are promising a release at some point in 2018. There is currently no word on a wider release for US and European markets.

Today’s Mega Driving Club takes a look at Turbo Out Run for the Mega Drive. The game was developed for the Mega Drive by AM2 and it was released in 1992. Turbo Out Run was originally released as a conversion kit for original Out Run cabinets. Check out our video review of the game below:
Another retro review! Today we’re tackling the Mega Drive port of perennial AM2 arcade classic After Burner II. Can the Mega Drive handle a faithful port of a game made for the slightly more powerful SEGA X Board?
3 new soundtrack collections of Out Run music have appeared on Amazon.
The 3 collections also feature the new songs by Manabu Namiki and Chibi-Tech that were added to 3D Out Run which is currently Japan exclusive. We can only hope that their inclusion in these collections means a Western release is on the cards.
Volume 1 contains music from Out Run, 3D Out Run and Turbo Out Run, volume 2 contains the full soundtrack to OutRunners and volume 3 contains the full soundtracks to all the iterations of Out Run 2.
SEGA AM2’s fantastic After Burner reboot ‘After Burner Climax’ is making its’ way to iOS devices. No release date has been set at this time but SEGA have revealed a screenshot of the game in action which you can see below:
SEGA have revealed that the re-releases of Cyber Troopers Virtual-On and Virtua Striker will not be making their way West and are restricted to the Japanese PSN and XBLA services. This is disappointing news as the other 3 titles in the collection (Sonic the Fighters, Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers) were released in the West.
The 2 games are due to launch in Japan on February 13th 2013.
Have you heard of Game Grumps yet? The YouTube game show features Jontron and Egoraptor sitting down together to play games and talk rubbish. While the concept has been done a million times before, Game Grumps manages to be a cut above the rest simply because the two men are so funny to listen to.
Most of the show has featured Nintendo games up until now. Now the pair are tackling Shenmue which is already producing some funny moments like Jontron losing his cool with the controls and Egoraptor singing along with the theme that plays in the Hazuki residence.
You can watch the first part below. Please be warned that Game Grumps features bad language and adult themes:
