Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios have revealed their first non-Yakuza title since 2012’s Binary Domain and it takes the form of Project Judge. In Japan the game will be officially titled Judge Eyes, while Project Judge is currently the working title in Western territories. Project Judge features action similar to the over-the-top brawling of the Yakuza franchise, but with a heavier emphasis on detective work and investigation. It’s actually set in the same fictionalised world of Yakuza and the 2 trailers that accompany the game’s announcement showcase action taking place in Kamurocho:

Project Judge will release in Japan on the 13th of December 2018 for PS4. A Western release is scheduled for next year.
SEGA are teaming up with Lizardcube (developers of the recent Wonderboy: The Dragon’s Trap remake), Guard Crush Games and Dotemu to bring Streets of Rage 4 to reality. Check out the trailer below to see the first footage of this game’s lovely, hand-drawn animation in motion:
Well doesn’t that look fantastic? Sadly this trailer is all we have to go on at the moment. There is currently no release date or confirmation of what platforms Streets of Rage 4 will release on at this time. It will also be interesting to see if Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima return to score the soundtrack, but that is also unconfirmed at this time.
Nintendo Everything are currently speculating that a Nintendo Switch release is in the works as both Lizardcube and Dotemu are famous for their work on releases for this system.
Gamescom is currently on, and as such there’s been plenty of new information regarding the upcoming Sumo Digital racer Team Sonic Racing, from a variety of sources.
First of all, a new track has been shown to press, revealing Market Street – based on Sonic Unleashed’s Rooftop Run. It seems more based on the Generations iteration of the stage, with balloons and confetti abound. Besides, there are also new released casino games at 666 casino. Be sure to check it out.
Famitsu has also published a preview of the title, revealing the mysterious character seen on the game’s box art. His name is Dodonpa, and he’s apparently a suspicious but charismatic Tanuki who invites Sonic and co. to race. They also offered a brief look at the game’s story mode, which appears to have a similar map system to Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed’s World Tour mode. Cutscenes of some description are also in, though they appear to be basic textboxes with portraits a la Sonic Free Riders.
(We haven’t included the full scans of Famitsu due to it being a bit spotty legally, but they’re out there).
Finally, an IGN Stream has confirmed the number of tracks on offer. There’ll be 21 tracks, spread across 7 locations. This is similar to the original Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing, which had multiple tracks in say, Seaside Hill and Final Fortress from Sonic Heroes. Apparently the earliest game to be represented through tracks will be Sonic the Hedgehog 3 – although ingame signage has mentioned Green Hill Zone. On a more amusing note, you can make a team of the same character – so if you want a Big the Cat army, that’s a thing you can do, since this types of games are popular for this, but there are also other types of games where you can even make money, such as Casino games like sbobet online.
Overall, there’s a hefty amount to digest here. We’ve included a gallery of Market Street screenshots from SEGA Press below (past the jump) – let us know what you think! (more…)

Puyo Puyo series producer Mizuki Hosoyamada has recently tweeted in response to a Puyo eSports competition being held at TGS 2018 – but in the tweet, after encouraging support of the players he also teases the possibility of “new information” being revealed there.
It has been a fair while since the last Puyo game, Puyo Puyo Chronicles (which released in 2016) – and in terms of a more mainline Puyo title, technically the last was Puyo Puyo Tetris, which originally released in 2014. However equally possible is that this new information may just be related to the Puyo mobile title Puyo Puyo Quest, which still enjoys a fair amount of success (and at the time of writing is in the middle of an Neon Genesis Evangelion themed event).
Time will tell what comes of this hint, but fingers crossed – and whatever’s next, let’s hope it’s fair and balanced.

The Nintendo Switch port of the SEGA Master System’s Phantasy Star, part of the SEGA AGES line, will be dropping in September. In addition, the extra features available in the port have now been detailed.
For Japanese users, the game includes a hiragana script option, as was present in the SEGA Saturn’s version of the game. There will also be a low-difficulty mode included for new players – it’s unclear right now if this will factor in the previous collection’s reward toggles, but it’s a safe bet based on previous interviews. Also included is a picture book of the various monsters in the game, which seems to be filled out similarly to a Pokedex, and a list of items and armour is also available for easy reference as to what they actually do.
One of the biggest extra features however, is the addition of a new map function. Previously, dungeons weren’t mapped out meaning you’d have to actually draw a physical map to keep track of where you were. Now the game can keep track for you, should you so desire – another helpful feature to ease in new players.
Finally, the game features both the FM and PSG soundtracks, and a music player so you can listen to the tracks at your discretion.
Overall this is shaping up to be a very nice package, which is to be expected from M2. Unfortunately it’s not yet clear when exactly the first two games in the line, Sonic the Hedgehog and Thunder Force IV, are set to launch; both games are due some time this month. We’ll keep an eye out for concrete release information.
This information comes from the official SEGA AGES site, which has received a bit of an overhaul. Several screenshots are also available on the site, but we’ve popped them below for convenience.

As you can see, the previously announced Dreamcast controllers are no longer listed, even after previously being showcased at CES 2018. Could the Dreamcast controllers be coming later? Retro-Bit’s press release does mention that the controllers listed above are a part of the “first line” of controllers, so it could be the case that the Dreamcast controllers come in the second line.
Etrian Odyssey Nexus, a Western release of what Japan knows as Etrian Odyssey X, has been announced by Atlus. The title will release in America and Europe on February 5th 2019.
Nexus is essentially a Sonic Generations-type deal of the past Etrian dungeon-crawler titles, featuring classes, characters, and so forth from across the series’ history. The game is also touted as the series’ final installment on the Nintendo 3DS, of which there have been quite a few. As such, it’s intended to be a grand send-off for the series’ dual screen days – and it certainly sounds like one.
It’s not the only Etrian-style title on the way for 3DS though, as spinoff Persona Q 2 is also on the way – set for a November 29th 2018 release date in Japan. Still no word on a localisation for that title, however.

In 1994, Digital Illusions were developing a game for the Mega Drive called Hardcore. The game was to be published by Psygnosis and nearly made it to release, but ultimately it was canned as Psygnosis began its focus on the next generation of consoles.
Now, a new team called Strictly Limited have been given the license to the original game data and with the help from some of the Digital Illusions developers, they will finish the game and release it for PS4 and PS Vita in 2019.
Hardcore is currently the working title of the game, but a digital and physical release has been promised. You can see the game in action by clicking the embed below:
Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight and Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight have been re-confirmed for the West, as well as a Limited Edition including Persona 4: Dancing All Night, remastered for PS4.
Both games were previously scheduled for a 2019 release, back at E3 – but they’ve now been bumped up to this year. The titles see you tapping buttons in time to the rhythm and grooving to iconic tunes from the Persona series, with remixes by talents such as Hideki Naganuma of Jet Set Radio fame. An aforementioned limited edition, the “Endless Night Collection” has also been confirmed, which includes both games and the previously Vita-Exclusive Persona 4 Dancing title, now in HD as a digital download.
