The cancelled Aliens RPG known as Aliens: Crucible that was under development by Obsidian Entertainment now has a 13 minute gameplay video to its’ name. The game was to be published by SEGA and was apparently “ready to ship” before SEGA mysteriously pulled the plug on the project. Check out the new footage below: AC by u64backup [Source: Eurogamer] Model 2 Fighters Now Available in the WestThursday, November 29th, 2012The 3 model 2 fighters Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic the Fighters and Fighting Vipers are now available for Western gamers. The titles are available on XBLA and PSN for 400MSP and $4.99 respectively. UK pricing is £3.69 per game and European pricing is €4.49. Additional features include widescreen support and the inclusion of “lost” character Honey the Cat in Sonic the Fighters. [Source: SEGABits & The Sonic Stadium] Jet Set Radio Now Available for iOSThursday, November 29th, 2012The latest Jet Set Radio port that has appeared on XBLA and PSN is now available on iOS in New Zealand. A Western release is expected at midnight tonight. The iOS version will be available for £2.99 in the UK and $4.99 in the US. This version is controlled through virtual controls as iOS devices don’t have buttons. You can also take photos and use them as in-game graffiti tags. [Source: SEGA News.net] YouTube Users with Shining Force III Content Being Targeted for Copyright InfringementTuesday, November 20th, 2012In a bizarre turn of events, certain YouTube users who have content featuring SEGA Saturn classic Shining Force III are being targeted for copyright infringement. Their videos and in some cases their channels are being removed and the people being targeted are usually those hosting translated content from part 2 and 3 which were never released in the West. One user MarauderEx who had his channel taken down contacted SEGA and got the following response: “Hello, we never give explicit permission to use our intellectual property. However, in cases like this we tend not to take action unless we or our products are slandered in the derivative works. Best Regards, SEGA Customer Support.” As MarauderEx’s material didn’t contain slander (along with users TotalBiscuit and synbios16) some are questioning the authenticity of the accusation. The claim comes from an unnamed person with a “legit” email address and is named in some SEGA games in a “special thanks” section but not in Shining Force III. More on this as we get it. [Source: Eurogamer] Jet Set Radio Coming to Mobile Devices and PS Vita This MonthTuesday, November 13th, 2012 Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio is getting a portable release on iOS and Android mobile devices as well as PS Vita this month. The PS Vita version will launch on the 20th of November while the iOS and Android versions will show themsevles on the 29th of November. North American PS Vita owners also get a special privilege if they’re subscribed to Playstation Plus. Jet Set Radio will be free for North American Playstation Plus subscribers from November 20th to December 31st. [Source: SEGA Blog] First Screenshots of SEGA Model 2 CollectionFriday, November 9th, 2012SEGA Online have a huge gallery of screenshots from the upcoming SEGA Model 2 collection. Click here to be taken straight to the gallery. The SEGA Model 2 collection features downloadable versions of Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters and Cyber Troopers: Virtual On. The collection will be released for XBLA and PSN and is currently Japanese exclusive. The collection is due for release later this year. [Source: SEGA News.net] Anarchy Reigns Limited Edition Includes Playable BayonettaThursday, November 8th, 2012Anarchy Reigns will be getting a limited edition which includes Bayonetta as a playable character. The limited edition also includes 2 bonus multiplayer modes; Mad Survival and Dogfight. Mad Survival pits a team of 3 characters against waves of enemies that are made up of playable characters from the game. Dogfight’s mechanic is to hang you from helicopters while you shoot at other players also hanging from helicopters. Sounds mental. Anarchy Reigns launches in the UK on the 11th of January 2013 for £19.99. The game is already out in Japan where it goes by the name of Max Anarchy. [Source: Eurogamer] 3DS/Vita/PC Version of ASR: Transformed DelayedTuesday, November 6th, 2012Steve Lycett from Sumo Digital has confirmed a delay on the 3DS, PS Vita and PC versions of Sonic & All-Stars Racing: Transformed. SEGA had originally slated the release for November 16th but Lycett has said: “Given we’re still working on it, 16th November UK release is unlikely. I think SEGA either have or are due to announce the handheld dates over here, they’re slightly later than the home console versions.” So sad times if you wanted to get those versions on November 16th. Charming 2010 Mega Drive RPG Pier Solar is getting a HD upgrade and is set for release on Dreamcast (alright, we know it isn’t a HD console), XBLA, PC, Mac and Linux. The port is being funded by a Kickstarter campaign. When the campaign reaches $139,000 the project will steam ahead for a December 2013 release. The campaign has already reached $43,829 at the time of writing.
