A fresh batch of games have been announced for the Mega Drive Mini. As with the first set, the titles vary by region, but there’s some surprising picks for both regions – namely in the form of the Disney Mickey Mouse titles! The announcement also confirms the previously mooted “one game per series” policy only applies to the Japanese version of the mini console, as Sonic 2 has been confirmed for the Western edition now.
The new batch for the Western Mega Drive/Genesis Mini is:
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Earthworm Jim
Streets of Rage 2
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse
World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck
Shinobi III – Return of the Ninja Master
Thunder Force III
Super Fantasy Zone
Contra Hard Corps/Probotector
Landstalker
The new batch for the Japanese version is after the jump:
When Tracker isn’t playing SEGA games, he’s talking about SEGA games. Or drawing about SEGA games. Or all of the above. You can also catch him over on Twitter.
In today’s update to our Merchandise Catalogue, we have added 5 new vinyl releases to the SEGA Music Index. Please see below for the full list of additions:
The original Earthworm Jim is a zany, off-the-wall, run ‘n’ gun, cartoon platformer that has earned its place as one of the Mega Drive’s greatest games. A sequel seemed inevitable at the time, but in hindsight, was there really anything that the Earthworm Jim formula needed to improve on?
Myself and Titanscreed are embarking on a journey to play some of our favourite retro classics and we return for a new series of us both playing through Earthworm Jim for the Mega Drive. You can watch the first part below:
2 Mega Drive heroes collide! The Kickstarter for a 20th anniversary Boogerman game has received a new pledge tier. For $40 you can get an expanded version of the game which features co-op play with Earthworm Jim as a playable character and bonus stages!
Check out the pitch video for Boogerman 20th Anniversary and go straight to the Kickstarter via this link.
The SEGA Community Roundtable is back from a longer absence than usual (my bad)! This time we dicuss the best SEGA Platformer that isn’t a Sonic game. The usual rules apply, any SEGA published game qualifies as well as any game that was released on a SEGA console; Mega Drive, Dreamcast etc.
A huge thanks to our contributors who make this feature so special! There’s some brilliant writing in this feature which you should all take some time to read over; probably some of the best work I’ve seen on the roundtable!
Ever wanted to see what SEGADriven HQ’s Mega Drive collection looks like? Well the mystery is no more thanks to this video I put together:
I’m still not entirely sure I like this video, but if it interests some then I suppose that’s all I could ask for! Interesting note, there are actually 149 games in this collection as I forgot to include Pier Solar.
