Yukio Futatsugi’s spiritual sequel to SEGA Saturn classic Panzer Dragoon (known as Crimson Dragon) briefly had a demo made available on the Japanese X-Box Live Marketplace before it was quickly taken down by Microsoft.
The game is not going to be published by SEGA but SEGA fans may want to keep an eye on Crimson Dragon due to its’ connection to Panzer Dragoon. The appearance (and disappearance) of the demo means that the game must be nearing completion.
Crimson Dragon is a Kinect-only X-Box 360 game and will presumably launch this year.
Ron Gilbert’s new adventure game for XBLA, PSN and Steam is looking rather lovely, isn’t it? There’s more footage of the game in the new character trailer below; check it out:
The latest Jet Set Radio port that has appeared on XBLA and PSN is now available on iOS in New Zealand. A Western release is expected at midnight tonight.
The iOS version will be available for £2.99 in the UK and $4.99 in the US.
This version is controlled through virtual controls as iOS devices don’t have buttons. You can also take photos and use them as in-game graffiti tags.
The SEGA Model 2 collection features downloadable versions of Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters and Cyber Troopers: Virtual On. The collection will be released for XBLA and PSN and is currently Japanese exclusive. The collection is due for release later this year.
Charming 2010 Mega Drive RPG Pier Solar is getting a HD upgrade and is set for release on Dreamcast (alright, we know it isn’t a HD console), XBLA, PC, Mac and Linux.
The port is being funded by a Kickstarter campaign. When the campaign reaches $139,000 the project will steam ahead for a December 2013 release. The campaign has already reached $43,829 at the time of writing.

The previously announced DLC content for Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is now available to purchase.
The Pimp My Rabbit pack includes 50 new masks, 11 driller skins for Ash’s jet pack driller, and classic SEGA franchise and character skins for $2.99 / £1.99 / €2.49 / 240MSP / AUD$4.25. Also available is the Virtual Rabbit Missions which includes an additional 50+ missions for $4.99 / £3.69 / €4.49 / 400MSP / AUD$7.75.
SEGA of Japan are releasing Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic the Fighters, Virtua Striker, Fighting vipers and Cyber Troopers: Virtual-On for the Japanese XBLA and PSN services. Sonic the Fighters, Virtua Fighter and Fighting Vipers will be bundled together as a $15 3 game pack on PSN all with online versus modes. This pack will come out during Autumn 2012 while the others are due “winter 2013” but we think this might be a typo and it’s actually 2012.
More interestingly is the fact that Sonic the Fighters is an expanded version that makes Metal Sonic and Eggman playable as well as the dumped character Honey the Cat. Now that was unexpected!
Unfortunately there is no word on a Western release at this time.
The above trailer uploaded to SEGA of Japan’s YouTube Channel contains a series of video game sounds that make reference to Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers, Sonic the Fighters, Virtua Striker and Cyber Troopers: Virtual-On. The video is titled 2×5 and is more than likely referencing the SEGA Model 2 arcade board that these games were developed for.
The teaser ends with the message; “See you tomorrow!” Is this the rumoured XBLA/PSN re-releases of Virtua Fighter 2, Fighting Vipers and Sonic the Fighters? Hopefully we’ll find out “tomorrow”!
