Arkedo Studio, the team responsible for Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit have sadly shut their doors.
Bizarrely, the studio didn’t go bankrupt or into administration. Arkedo weren’t able to secure a project after finishing Hell Yeah! and decided to disband while they had money and were able to get “good conditions” for all their staff elsewhere.
Arkedo have also announced that they have 2 other unannounced games which are complete. These games will be the last from the studio and should be released “soon”.
SEGA’s PC/PSN/XBLA title Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is getting a spin-off title called Hell Yeah! Pocket Inferno. The game is an iOS running game like Canabalt and features a total of 50 stages. The game launches sometime tonight.
The previously announced DLC content for Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit is now available to purchase.
The Pimp My Rabbit pack includes 50 new masks, 11 driller skins for Ash’s jet pack driller, and classic SEGA franchise and character skins for $2.99 / £1.99 / €2.49 / 240MSP / AUD$4.25. Also available is the Virtual Rabbit Missions which includes an additional 50+ missions for $4.99 / £3.69 / €4.49 / 400MSP / AUD$7.75.
SEGA is teaming up with Arkedo Studio to bring us Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit; a 2D action game featuring an undead bunny who is framed for having sex with a rubber duck. No, I’m not making this up. Check out the reveal trailer below:
The game is set to launch on PC, PSN and XBLA later this year.
SEGA have announced a partnership with Arkedo Studio, the developers behind Nervous Brickdown and Big Bang Mini for Nintendo DS as well as the Arkedo Series on XBLA and PSN.
The new project is currently known as Project Hell Yeah! There is currently no word on what the ‘project’ will be (we’re assuming it’ll be a PSN/XBLA game) but more will be revealed on Arkedo’s blog which you can access by clicking here.
Arkedo appear to be pretty avid SEGA fans. Camille Guermonprez the studio chief has said, “See, SEGA? We spent the last five years telling you repeatedly that someday, somehow, you would publish one of our games. This day has come. Hell Yeah! Now let’s go back to work and finish the damn thing.”
