An official Space Channel 5 Twitter account has appeared and Tweeted the following two messages: “・・・・・ザッ・・・・・ ・・・・・ガ・ガガガ・・・・・” Loosely translated these mean “…Se-…” and “…Ga… …GaGaGa…”. It’s not much but does this mean the Space Channel 5 brand is being brought back to life? Could a new game be on the way? Only time will tell! SEGA president John Cheng has revealed that Sonic: Lost World will feature all new gameplay and enemies, as well as some new friends to accompany Sonic. Cheng has said: “With ‘Sonic Lost World,’ we’re going to introduce new gameplay and enemies, which is always fun. In terms of Sonic and his friends, he’ll have his same friends there, and I think there’ll be some new ones as well. It’s not a reiteration. It’s going to be all new.” Cheng has also commented on the deal between Nintendo and SEGA which means the next 3 Sonic games are Nintendo exclusive: “It should be a win-win situation. SEGA are publishing the new Guilty Gear game. The game is titled Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign and is the first in the series to use the Unreal Engine as well as polygonal graphics instead of sprites. Nintendo and SEGA have announced a worldwide partnership for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. This will mean that the next 3 Sonic titles will be completely exclusive to Nintendo platforms. This also includes an unannounced title. President and COO of SEGA of America, John Cheng has said: “Sonic the Hedgehog has proven incredibly successful on Nintendo platforms and we are pleased to continue our long-standing relationship with Nintendo. Also announced at today’s Nintendo Direct is Yakuza 1&2 HD for Wii-U. It appears the game will still be a Japan exclusive title though. The game releases in Japan on 8/8/2013. Looks like SEGA are gearing up for a new Sonic release! SEGA of Japan have trademarked the name “Sonic Lost World” while SEGA of Europe and registered the URL www.soniclostworlds.com. No word on what this trademark and URL relate to but speculation is already pointing to the next, major Sonic release. More on this as we get it. Owners of SEGA’s original mobile port of Sonic 1 should also be receiving updates which essentially turn the game into the remastered version.
