Premier Sonic site Sonic Wrecks and one of our faithful affiliates have awarded us ‘Most Underrated SEGA/Sonic Website 2011’ in their year end awards. They had this to say:
“It’s somewhat a testament to its author Lewis “Sonic Yoda” Clark that the site is still going. Now a TSSNET site, I’m a big fan of SEGA Driven’s review and reporting style as well as their deep passion for SEGA past and present. Oft overlooked, in fact it’s original guise as Sonic Yoda won this award in the 2007 SWAs.
Do yourself a favour some time and check the site out, especially the reviews section.”
I am incredibly humbled to have the site acknowledged in this way and would like to thank both Sonic Wrecks for the kind words and The Sonic Stadium for being such a brilliant host.

20 years of Sonic the Hedgehog! That’s a bit of a mad concept, isn’t it? What better way to celebrate it then with an anniversary game! Sonic Generations is here to do just that, but is it a game that celebrates Sonic’s history in style or does it miss the mark? Lucky we reviewed it so you can find out!
Thinking of buying a tablet? Well if you get a Samsung Galaxy, Acer 100 or a ASUS Transformer from GameStop or www.gamestop.com, you will receive a free copy of the new Sonic CD, pre-installed on the device and way ahead of the December release date.
Also revealed is Tails who becomes playable after your first playthrough of Sonic CD. Now that’s a cool unlockable!
We love Sonic CD at SEGADriven and it appears that all news regarding this fantastic re-release is just making us more excited for the December release!
Wanna bag yourself a set of 6 classic Sonic figurines? Then head over to Plus XP where past SEGA Driven writer Helen Doherty is holding a Sonic Generations themed competition!
All you have to do is submit a photo that you feel sums up the theme of Sonic Generations (ie the clash of generations). Full details on how to submit your photo and who to send it to can be found over at Plus XP so click here to be taken straight there.
Now get creative and good luck to everyone involved!
SEGA have announced a partnership with Arkedo Studio, the developers behind Nervous Brickdown and Big Bang Mini for Nintendo DS as well as the Arkedo Series on XBLA and PSN.
The new project is currently known as Project Hell Yeah! There is currently no word on what the ‘project’ will be (we’re assuming it’ll be a PSN/XBLA game) but more will be revealed on Arkedo’s blog which you can access by clicking here.
Arkedo appear to be pretty avid SEGA fans. Camille Guermonprez the studio chief has said, “See, SEGA? We spent the last five years telling you repeatedly that someday, somehow, you would publish one of our games. This day has come. Hell Yeah! Now let’s go back to work and finish the damn thing.”
