Is a rather unexpected turn of events, SEGA have announced their next Dreamcast title to be ported to X-Box Live Arcade and Playstation Network will be Jet Set Radio. Check out the teaser trailer below:
So why is this unexpected? Well up until this point SEGA have been porting Dreamcast games that were already ported to PC as it appears to be easier. However, Jet Set Radio was never ported to the PC so this means SEGA have either developed an emulator that can run Dreamcast games on PS3 and 360 or they’ve actually ported it from the ground up which might mean we get improvements and added features.
All of this can only be a positive thing because if SEGA are willing to go to that effort to port Jet Set Radio then we might see other much loved Dreamcast games come to the service soon. Can I get a “Shenmue”? Amen brother!
The Playstation Store has seen some rather interesting developments recently with the addition of PS2 classics becoming available for purchase. This week sees the addition of another plethora of titles that includes 2 SEGA games which must mean that SEGA are keen to support the service.
The 2 games are Sonic Heroes and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. Full European pricing follows:
Sonic Heroes (£7.99/€9.99)
Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution (£7.99/€9.99)
There’s not a lot to say at the moment, but a Japanese teaser site has revealed that SEGA, Capcom and Namco Bandai are teaming up for a new 3DS project. The only information regarding the project so far is the bare-bones teaser website which you can access via this link: CLICK HERE
Not really a lot to go on, is it? Something tells me we aren’t going to hear much else about this title until the Summer (E3 most likely) as well, but we’ll update you on any news regarding this extremely interesting project as we get it.
erbuka85 on the Sonic Fan Games HQ forums has revealed this trailer for a work in progress Blue Spheres fan game that he calls ‘Blue Spheres Forever’. Just watch:
Doesn’t that look incredible!? More news on the this fan game as we get it!
WaterMelon Games have opened a new website called Magical Game Factory. The developers of Pier Solar (the Mega Drive RPG released in 2011) are allowing users to invest in game ideas using a GEMS system on the website. The most popular game ideas will then be considered for development by WaterMelon Games. Not only will investors help fund the development of a game, but they’ll also be given access to pre-order the game early and even receive a special ‘Investor Version’ of the finished game once it’s complete.
In a shock move from SEGA, the soundtrack to Valkyria Chronicles 2 is now available on the US and EU iTunes stores. The 47 song soundtrack is £15.99 for UK users. We are unable to confirm the price in US dollars and Euros at this time.

We can finally see what Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 will look like! And what a surprising turn of events this is; the game now uses a fully 3D engine instead of using pre-rendered graphics for the foreground tiles and items like the previous game. Check it out:
Eagle-eyed Sonic fans will be intrigued to see Metal Sonic riding the rocket that Tails flies from Sonic the Fighters; nostalgia!
Also confirmed for the game is 2 player offline and online co-op play with Tails. This isn’t your standard Sonic 2 type co-op play either; Sonic and Tails have unique combination skills and attacks that give them a greater advantage than they do alone.
We are proper excited for Binary Domain, the new tactical third-person shooter from the legend that is Toshihiro Nagoshi. These cutscene videos that SEGA have been uploading are only whetting our appetite even more:
