The 2024 edition of the Sonic Amateur Games Expo is about to kick off later this week (Friday September 6th 2024 to be exact), and now we have our first look at some of the games that will be featured at the event. Check out the full 19 minute showcase trailer via the embed below:
SAGE 2024 kicks off Friday September 6th 2024 and runs for an entire week, closing on September 13th 2024. SEGADriven will be spotlighting as many games as we can over on our YouTube channel so make sure you’re subscribed if you want to see our coverage of the event.
The Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie promotional campaign is finally under way with this first trailer for the upcoming feature. Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Tom are back to take on the previously teased Shadow the Hedgehog, who is being voiced by Keanu Reeves. Check it out below:
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premieres in theaters in December 2024. Lee Majdoub returns as Agent Stone, Ben Schwartz returns as Sonic, Colleen O’Shaughnessey returns as Tails, Idris Elba returns as Knuckles, James Marsden returns as Tom, and Jim Carrey returns as Dr. Robotnik. Carrey will also play Dr. Robotnik’s father, Gerald Robotnik.
A new Sonic X Shadow Generations trailer has dropped and this time it puts the focus squarely on Shadow’s new Doom powers that he inherits from Black Doom. Shadow can now use 5 new abilities called Doom Spear, Doom Blast, Doom Morph, Doom Wing and Doom Surf and they are all showcased in this new trailer. Check it out:
Sonic X Shadow Generations releases on October 25th 2024 on PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch. The game comes in a standard edition which includes a copy of Gerald Robotnik’s journal, a reversible cover and a Sonic Adventure skin for Sonic. There is also a digital deluxe edition which includes an additional skin and level for Shadow, alongside a digital art book and soundtrack. Limited Run Games are also producing a collector’s edition which includes a Sonic and Shadow Dreamcast statue, a physical art book and soundtrack plus many more goodies.
The first look at Amazon Prime’s Like a Dragon: Yakuza TV series has arrived. You can watch the brand new teaser trailer for yourself via the embed below:
Like a Dragon: Yakuza will be co-directed by Take Masaharu and Takimoto Kengo. Kiryu Kazama will be played by Takeuchi Ryoma. The series will premiere in 2 batches of 3 episodes, with the first going live on October 24th, while the 2nd batch will premiere on November 1st.
A new Sonic X Shadow Generations trailer has dropped and it showcases 3 of the game’s new Shadow stages by comparing them to their original incarnations.
The trailer gives us a fresh look at Final Rush from SA2, Bullet Station from Sonic Heroes and Kingdom Valley from Sonic 06 and shows off the game’s impressive visuals by directly comparing them to the original versions of these stages. It makes for a fun watch which you see via the embed below:
Sonic X Shadow Generations launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S|X, Switch and PC on October 25th 2024. The game is a full remake of Sonic Generations with a new Shadow campaign bolted on.

With the release of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name quickly approaching, we now get a look at the game’s opening cinematic and theme song, ‘Katatoki’ by Yojiro Noda and J.I.D. You can watch the cinematic via the embed below:
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will release digital only for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 9th 2023. The game is an interquel set between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon that tells the story of Kiryu Kazama as he goes into hiding in Sotenbori.
Previously revealed back in September 2022, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is an interquel set between Yakuza 6 & 8 and is said to be game with a much smaller scope than previous entries in the Like a Dragon franchise. We now have our first look at the in-game action of Like a Dragon Gaiden and it showcases some pretty wild beat-em-up combat with Kiryu going undercover as the mysterious Joryu. Fresh footage of the new Bayonetta spin-off, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon has premiered during the latest Nintendo Direct. The game is being published by Nintendo under license from SEGA and features a new take on the Bayonetta formula that is less violent and played from a top-down perspective using 2 characters – Cereza and Cheshire. Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon releases March 17th 2023 exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
