Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. has received its first gameplay trailer. This new version of Virtua Fighter 5 brings the game to PCs with 4K support and rollback netcode. Content-wise the game is largely similar to Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown on PS4.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. will be SEGA’s final iteration of Virtua Fighter 5 before the next mainline entry releases. The game will release on PC on January 28th 2025. A 30th Anniversary Edition will also be available that gives you access to additional costumes, pre-production materials, music, wallpapers, titles and some cute console-themed items that look like a Mega Drive, Saturn and Dreamcast.
PS4 fighting game Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown has just received a massive 2.0 update that is available to download right now.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is a PS4 exclusive fighting game from AM2 and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
SEGA have revealed a brand new Virtua Fighter game is in development at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio. The game is currently being called “New Virtua Fighter Project” but will undoubtedly receive a different title at a later date.
The first teaser trailer showcases Akira and Sarah fighting in a street and seems to suggest that the environments are heavily destructible. You can watch it via the embed below:
No target platforms or release dates have been announced for this new Virtua Fighter title at the time of writing, but it’s safe to assume that SEGA are likely targeting PC if the release of Virtua Fighter 5 REVO is anything to go by.
SEGA and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have revealed a 6 episode live action TV series based on the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise will air on Amazon Prime in October 2024.
The series will be co-directed by both Take Masaharu and Takimoto Kengo. Kiryu Kazama will be played by Takeuchi Ryoma of Kamen Rider fame. The series will premiere in 2 batches of 3 episodes. The first will go live on October 24th, while the 2nd will premiere on November 1st. In addition to subtitles, the show will also be dubbed into 30 different languages.
Like a Dragon: Yakuza appears to be adapting the first game in the series as Variety have reported the events of the series take place between 1995 and 2005, which lines up with Kiryu’s 10 year prison sentence that he serves when he is framed for the murder of his boss Sohei Dojima.
A new trailer for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth has dropped that reveals an additional life-sim mode called DonDoko Island. On this fully customisable space away from the main game, you can create and manage your own island resort very much like an Animal Crossing game. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth releases on January 26th 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio.
With the release of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name quickly approaching, we now get a look at the game’s opening cinematic and theme song, ‘Katatoki’ by Yojiro Noda and J.I.D. You can watch the cinematic via the embed below:
Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will release digital only for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC on November 9th 2023. The game is an interquel set between Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like a Dragon that tells the story of Kiryu Kazama as he goes into hiding in Sotenbori.
The RGG Summit has brought with it news that Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be releasing on January 26th 2024. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will is the 8th mainline entry in the Yakuza/Ryu Ga Gotoku/Like a Dragon franchise. It will release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game is being developed by Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and will launch on January 26th 2024.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio have revealed that long time leads Toshihiro Nagoshi and Daisuke Sato have left the company and the studio has undergone a restructure as a result. Masayoshi Yokoyama will now take over from Nagoshi as the studio’s Director and Executive Producer.
Toshihiro Nagoshi has been a SEGA mainstay since 1989, starting as a designer and director on games like Virtua Racing, Daytona USA and Shenmue before finding fame as the lead director of the Super Monkey Ball and Yakuza franchises.
Daisuke Sato is also a long-tenured SEGA employee starting his career on field map production for 1995’s Magic Knight Rayearth on the Saturn and having designer credits on games like SEGA Super GT, Virtua Fighter 3tb and Shenmue. Sato’s career highlights also include directing duties Yakuza 3 and Binary Domain.

UPDATE: Romain Mahut of GameBlog has reported confirmation that owners of the physical version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon on Playstation 4 will also be eligible for the free upgrade. Original article continues below.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will come to the Playstation 5 on March 2nd 2021. Alongside this announcement, the first footage of the game running on PS5 has been released, and it certainly looks quite nice!
In addition, owners of Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s digital PS4 version will be able to get the PS5 version for free once it releases. This is similar to the situation on Microsoft’s platforms, where Like a Dragon will support Xbox Smart Delivery.
Also announced is that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will now launch on November 10th across all platforms, via Gematsu. Previously the game was slated for November 10th on Xbox Series X/S and November 13th on other platforms.
