A new update is now available for Puyo Puyo Tetris 2, adding yet another batch of characters to the roster. In particular, we get some real fan-favourites in this wave; Yuu & Rei, Possessed Klug, Serilly, and Rafisol. They bring with them 3 new music tracks, and 20 icons for your online profile.
In addition, you can now adjust colour options including saturation, as a means of improving accessibility, and the previously single-player only Challenge Modes can now be played in multiplayer too! While not specifically mentioned on SEGA’s end, we’ve also been informed that some of the game’s lag issues have been cleared up now too, which is much appreciated.

SEGA’s detective-based Yakuza spinoff Judgment is making its way to modern platforms, with an upgraded release including all DLC content.
The game will now boast a 60fps framerate, which will represent a far cry from the somewhat iffy performance of the original PS4 release. In addition, there’ll be improved load times across the board.
There’s a catch though. While PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X owners get to sink their teeth into the remaster, sadly the PC version will be restricted to Google’s streaming platform Stadia for the time being. To make matters worse, SEGA has confirmed to RPG Site that there’s no plan for a conventional PC version, nor an upgrade path for owners of the PS4 version. It’s certainly a shame to see, as even back when the game launched, RGG Studio said they’d be interested in doing a PC conversion.
At any rate, there’s not long to wait; the remaster will launch on April 23rd, worldwide.

UPDATE: Romain Mahut of GameBlog has reported confirmation that owners of the physical version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon on Playstation 4 will also be eligible for the free upgrade. Original article continues below.
Yakuza: Like a Dragon will come to the Playstation 5 on March 2nd 2021. Alongside this announcement, the first footage of the game running on PS5 has been released, and it certainly looks quite nice!
In addition, owners of Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s digital PS4 version will be able to get the PS5 version for free once it releases. This is similar to the situation on Microsoft’s platforms, where Like a Dragon will support Xbox Smart Delivery.
Also announced is that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will now launch on November 10th across all platforms, via Gematsu. Previously the game was slated for November 10th on Xbox Series X/S and November 13th on other platforms.

The latest Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase has announced Puyo Puyo Tetris 2: The Ultimate Puzzle Match. It’ll be coming to a slew of consoles: Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
The game is a direct sequel to the first Puyo Puyo Tetris, and will include a brand new Adventure Mode with a new Story, as well as new characters.
As well as the standard Puyo (and Tetris) fare, there’ll also be new modes, such as “Skill Battle” (which actually originated in Puyo Puyo Chronicle on 3DS). This mode will involve ‘Skill Cards’ – you can get some skill cards as a pre-order bonus for the game, including some based on Sonic the Hedgehog.

A new trailer has been released for Yakuza: Like a Dragon’s upcoming Western release, showcasing the ‘Job’ system. The game allows you to spec into 19 different jobs, that affect not only your abilities and fighting style, but your appearance too. So if you feel like kicking people with the power of dance, you can do that – likewise, you can hit them around the head with a scalding frying pan as a Chef.
Crucially, the new trailer also reveals when Western players will finally get their hands on RGG Studio’s latest; November 13th, for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam. The Xbox Series X version is set to launch at some point in November, presumably on or around the as-of-yet unconfirmed launch date of the console, and at an unspecified later time for Playstation 5.

SEGA has confirmed that Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be making its way to Playstation 5 some time after its release on PS4 and Xbox One/Xbox Series X. SEGA are currently making plans for PS4 owners to be able to upgrade to the PS5 version once it becomes available.
That’s arguably not the biggest news however, as Yakuza: Like a Dragon will also be receiving an English dub; the first time the series has done so since the PS2 days. Even more surprising, is that beloved actor George Takei will be lending his vocal chords to the game as Masumi Arakawa. Kaiji Tang will play protagonist Ichiban Kasuga.
Also revealed was a pre-order bonus. The Legends Costume Pack allows you to dress up the characters as those from previous Yakuza games, just in case you can’t let go of Kiryu’s iconic suit.
