The Dreamcast and SEGA Saturn console themes for 3DS are finally coming to Europe this Friday the 19th of February. Each theme will set you back £1.59 and come complete with sampled audio relevant to each console.
The European localisation has been especially impressive for previous SEGA console themes with the Mega Drive and Master System themes using sound and imagery relevant to the console’s release in the PAL regions. The same seems to have been applied to the Dreamcast theme which actually uses the blue swirl as opposed to the orange swirl used in America and Japan.
It’s been a very long wait but Yakuza 5’s Western release is finally dated and it’s coming next week on the 8th of December.
The game’s release date was revealed in tonight’s Playstation Experience event. Yakuza 5 will be released digitally for PS3 and include all the DLC that was released during its original Japanese campaign.
Remember that Phantasy Star Online 2 anime that was announced a while back? It’s finally going to start airing soon and there’s a new trailer to watch below. Check it out:
Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation will start broadcasting on the 7th of January 2016 in Japan through Tohoku Broadcasting Company (TBC). The series seems to be centered around high school kids that play Phantasy Star Online 2 instead of being a story set inside the PSO2 universe.
The first trailer for the new PS4 Valkyria game Valkyria: Azure Revolution has arrived and you can watch it below. In typical Japanese fashion there’s a sexy lady with impossible breasts in it:
Valkyria: Azure Revolution will launch for PS4 in Japan sometime in 2016. The PS4 Valkyria Chronicles Remaster also launches in Japan for PS4 on the 10th of February 2016. The box art has also been revealed and you can see that below:
You can now pre-order Yakuza 5-themed avatars on the PSN store. The pre-order date? 5th of November. Could this be a clue as to the game’s Western release date? Quite possibly.
The avatars are actually marked as Yakuza 5-themed items and you can pre-order them by clicking here. Why you’d want to pre-order tiny images for 25p is beyond me but that’s a thing you can do if you’re losing your grip on reality. Happy times!
Yakuza 5 should launch exclusively on PS3 via the PSN store on November 5th. Should.
It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about the Western release of Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax and then all of a sudden there’s a new character roster trailer to check out (see below) and news of the game’s US release which is next week!
The game launches on the PSN store on October 6th. This is for both the PS3 and PS Vita versions. Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is a cross-franchise fighting game featuring characters from anime and manga series’ like Sword Art Online. There’s also some cheeky SEGA cameos as well:
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax will release in North America on August the 25th.
A European release date has yet to be set in stone but the North American release date allows us to ballpark the EU one. Keep your eyes set on the 28th of August as EU games are generally released on a Friday. Those lucky Americans also get a physical release of the game on PS3 and Vita while us Europeans only get a digital release.
Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax is a 2D one-on-one fighter based on various manga franchises like Sword Art Online and Accel World. SEGA cameos are also included by way of Akira Yuki from Virtua Fighter and Selvaria Bles from Valkyria Chronicles.
Hucast’s next Dreamcast release is the vertical-scrolling shooter Ghost Blade and after a serious set-back when the previous programmer left the project, the game is now set for a release this year on September the 17th.
You can pre-order the game now. A standard and special edition is available with the standard simply featuring the game and a manual while the special edition also includes the game’s soundtrack on a separate disc.
