Remember that Phantasy Star Online 2 anime that was announced a while back? It’s finally going to start airing soon and there’s a new trailer to watch below. Check it out:

Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation will start broadcasting on the 7th of January 2016 in Japan through Tohoku Broadcasting Company (TBC). The series seems to be centered around high school kids that play Phantasy Star Online 2 instead of being a story set inside the PSO2 universe.

As part of the 15th anniversary celebrations of Phantasy Star Online, SEGA are releasing Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation and you can get your first look at the anime below:

As per usual the Western PSO audience are delighted by this and they’ve left some charming comments like:

Phantasy Star Online 2 Anime Due For Japanese Release Next Year

An anime series based on Phantasy Star Online 2 is due for release in Japan next year.

The series will be called Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation and is being created to mark the 15th anniversary of Phantasy Star Online.

Details are currently scarce with some minor plot points being the only thing revealed at the moment. The series will feature an original story and be based on Earth. An official website is available to view by clicking here.
