The first cinematic trailer and gameplay footage for 3DS rhythm game Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX have launched and you can watch them below. Both feature the song Nice to Meet You Mr. Earthling and it’s going to be stuck in your head for days to come. Check out the cinematic trailer below:

The gameplay trailer clocks in at a meaty 5 minutes so there’s plenty to get your teeth into. It appears that one of the mini-games is just Puyo Puyo so that’s a lovely surprise!

Hatsune Miku Project Mirai DX is released worldwide on the 28th of May for 3DS. The game was developed by SEGA AM2. Yes, really!

A Few Words on the Condition of This Website

Saturday, March 7th, 2015

problems

Hello everyone, Sonic Yoda here.

So things have taken a turn for the worse for all the websites hosted on The Sonic Stadium network. The hard drive for the server that the TSS network is hosted on basically decided to die on us. What’s made this problem worse is that the website backups haven’t been created since Christmas 2013 due to a different issue. Always the way, isn’t it? This means the version of SEGADriven you are currently looking at is essentially 15 months old.

I am working to source a lot of the work I’ve done since the end of 2013 through the Internet Archive and my own personal files, but I’m still going to have to rebuild a lot of the missing content. Work on restoring all the lost content will continue for a while but rest assured I haven’t given up (yet).

Please bare with me while the website is in recovery status. Normal service will resume before you know it.

sonicrunnersart

The first teaser for Sonic Runners has been unleashed! The new teaser trailer doesn’t show any gameplay but it does take a short tour of Sonic’s history which is becoming quite a familiar sight if you’re used to Sonic reveal trailers. Check it out below:

If you click the image above you will also see the first insight into the game’s graphical style which seems to be based off Sonic Lost World. Characters also have that chunky, black outline with games like Sonic Jump have adopted.

Sonic Runners will launch on smartphones in Spring 2015. It is still unclear whether this is a Japan exclusive title.

Review: World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

Monday, February 2nd, 2015

worldofillusionlogo

1990’s Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse was an early hit for the Mega Drive. The SEGA-developed platformer was an excellent little game full of beautiful scenarios, smart level design and tight controls and it was gently dipped in that lovely, Disney goo that makes the experience all the more magical. A sequel was inevitable and the next two years saw Castle of Illusion making its way to Master System and Game Gear. An original sequel for the 8 bit consoles came in the form of Land of Illusion and then things came full circle with another Mega Drive game in the form of World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck (that title is quite a mouthful).
