Video Spotlight: SEGA E3 1996 Trailers Including Sonic Xtreme

YouTube ArgyleDX has uploaded some classic SEGA trailers that were featured heavily at E3 1996. The most interesting of the lot is cancelled Sonic game Sonic Xtreme which would’ve been released for the Saturn. Also featured is beta footage of Sonic 3D Blast which shows a different design to the loops and floor-gates:

Next up we have a SEGA Saturn showcase reel which features a load of gameplay footage from various Saturn games like NiGHTS, Bug Too, Cyber Troopers Virtual-On and Fighting Vipers:

Finally we have the Mega Drive showcase reel which features X-Women, Bugs Bunny: Double Trouble and Vectorman 2:

SEGA of Japan Launch New MMORPG ‘Rusty Hearts’ UPDATE

SEGA of Japan have launched a new MMORPG called Rusty Hearts. As you’d probably gathered the game is a Japan exclusive release. Here’s a promotional video:

Detailed information on the game including the PC specs you’ll need to play the thing can be found at SEGA of Japans’ official site and there’s also an official site for the game.

Prepare to Have Your Ears Destroyed by Super Monkey Ball: The Musical

In what has to be one of the most bizarre advertising campaigns we’ve seen since the previous Monkey Ball one (you know, with the boobs), SEGA have revealed a collaboration with Random Encounters to release a 3 part Super Monkey Ball musical on YouTube. Yes, you heard that right. This is all in celebration of the release of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Splitz on PS Vita.

If you feel like putting yourself through this horror then watch the first part below. Probably best you watch this alone and out of sight from other people/animals:
