Nintendo Life have uploaded gameplay footage of all 4 Japanese SEGA 3D eShop titles. Check out the below video to see 3D Super Hang-On, 3D Space Harrier, 3D Sonic the Hedgehog and 3D Altered Beast in action. WARNING: These are obviously only viewable in 2D:
Up and until now, SEGA’s 3D re-releases of classic SEGA titles for the 3DS eShop have been exclusive to Japan, but by the looks of things two of these titles look to be coming West.
The Australian Classification Board has entries for both 3D Sonic the Hedgehog and 3D Altered Beast. While Australia obviously isn’t the West, games that are generally released in this region get a release in the West as well.
No official word on these titles or any release dates have been revealed at this time.
SEGA are publishing the new Guilty Gear game. The game is titled Guilty Gear Xrd: Sign and is the first in the series to use the Unreal Engine as well as polygonal graphics instead of sprites. Check out the rather stunning announcement trailer below:
Arc System Works fighters generally launch in the arcade before they receive a home console release so as a system wasn’t announced in the trailer we can assume this is arcade exclusive for the time being.
Project Diva Arcade is receiving 3 new songs in an update with one curious entry being a remix of Like the Wind from the Power Drift soundtrack. The in game promotional video for the song also gives you a fascinating insight into what a HD remake of Power Drift could look like. Check it out in the video below. Like the Wind starts at 2:09:
Being a Japanese 3DS owner must be a wonderful thing because all these fantastic arcade classics keep getting re-released for your machine in shiny 3D!
Super Hang-On is making its’ way onto the Japanese 3DS eShop next week for ¥600 (roughly £4). You can even control the bike using the 3DS’ gyro-controls.
Here’s hoping this and 3D Space Harrier will make it to the West as well.
Japan exclusive arcade title Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Arcade is receiving an update on March 19th which adds 3 new songs; 39, Senbonzakura and a rather spectacular After Burner II remix. Check the video below to hear clips of the 3 songs in action:
Developed by SEGA’s Amusement Vision team, F-Zero GX was released in 2003 for the Gamecube under the supervision of Nintendo. The game was developed side-by-side with the rare arcade game F-Zero AX which includes exclusive tracks and a focus on timed gameplay. The arcade version was developed on the Triforce board which was jointly developed by Nintendo, SEGA and Namco.
In a bizarre turn of events, hackers have discovered that the complete version of F-Zero AX is hidden deep within F-Zero GX and is now accessible via action replay codes which you can get below. You can also see the game in action via the following video:
Border Break is a Japan exclusive, third-person, mecha fighting game that is hugely popular in its’ native country. Machines are linked together for LAN multiplayer which can result in matches like the one below which includes a massive 20 players duking it out. Watch the chaos ensue here:
