Huge SEGA Sale on XBLA Including NiGHTS, Virtua Fighter UPDATED

SEGA is having a sale on the Xbox Live Marketplace which affects 5 of their digital-only titles. Check below for the full list of reductions:

NiGHTS into Dreams… – was 800 MSP now 400 MSP
Sonic the Fighters – was 400 MSP now 160 MSP
Fighter Vipers – was 400 MSP now 160 MSP
Virtua Fighter 2 – was 400 MSP now 160 MSP
Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown – was 1200 MSP now 400 MSP

While it’s not made apparent on the SEGA Blog, this appears to be a worldwide sale and not just North American only. More on this as we get it.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Release Dates Announced

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, the XBLA/PSN port of the previously arcade exclusive update to Virtua Fighter 5, finally has a release date and it isn’t too far away!

The fighter will launch on June 5th (PSN) and June 6th (XBLA) for North American’s and June 6th for both PSN & XBLA in Europe.

There’s also a new trailer for the game which you can see below:

Also announced is day one DLC for character customisation packs. The first pack is priced at $4.99/£3.59/AUD$6.25/€4.49 for PSN and 400 Microsoft Points for XBLA, and will contain 600-950 customization items for all characters.

Two additional customisation packs consisting of nine characters’ worth of DLC items and the other with 10 characters’ worth, will also be available at launch for $14.99/£9.99/AUD$18.25/ €12.99 each on PSN and 1,200 Microsoft Points each on XBLA.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Confirmed for XBLA & PSN

Exciting news! Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown, the arcade-only update to Virtua Fighter 5 is finally getting a home console release!

The game will release on X-Box Live Arcade and Playstation Network instead of receiving a boxed release like the original. They are set for a Summer 2012 launch.

New features include:

– An overhaul of the game’s mechanics, balance and animations
– A new one-on-one online battle mode and a new single-player mode
– New arenas (including those with fences and walls that are different for every round)
– Customisable character items
– Two new characters: Taka-Arashi and Jean Kujo.
– Simplified controls for new players

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO— 23rd August 2011—SEGA® of Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that Virtua Fighter™ 5, the latest title in its celebrated fighting franchise, will see a grand update and expansion released as a standalone title for both Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.and PlayStation® Network.
