Takara Tomy have revealed the action figure to end all action figures in the form of the Transformer Megatron who can now transform into a Mega Drive! The figure was revealed at the recent Winter Wonder Festival in Japan but without paintwork. Presumably the figure is due for a Japanese release but no word has been given as to when this will happen at this time. Fingers crossed the figure makes it to the West as well! Awesome merchandise alert! The Japanese clothing store ‘Hardcore Chocolate’ are selling Shenmue and Fighting Vipers t-shirts. Both shirts are selling for 3800 yen (around £22.60 in sterling) but without a knowledge of Japanese you might have a hard time navigating the webstore. A huge update has been made to our SEGA Music Catalogue. If you head into our Merchandise section and click the Music link you will see an extended and far tidier music index. The index is now organised by album title for easier searching and each entry now has its own separate page full of trivia, scans and a track list. Read-Only Memory (the team behind the Sensible Software 1986–1999 book) have taken to Kickstarter to seek funding for their next book entitled SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis: Collected Works. The hardback, litho printed book features 20 interviews with key SEGA development staff as well as features on many classic games like Streets of Rage, Sonic the Hedgehog and Gunstar Heroes. A copy of the book will cost you £30 with additional postage costs for those outside the UK. The final product is expected to launch in June 2014. The Mega Drive Book is backed with a similarly themed Super NES Book and is priced at £9.99. SEGA Japan have released a 30th anniversary SG-1000 music collection today. The CD features 227 tracks of SG-1000 soundtrack music on 4 discs and covers games like Outrun and Space Harrier. The Total War franchise will receive a novelisation come September. SEGA Europe have struck a deal with Pac Macmillan to create a series of novels based on the strategy franchise from The Creative Assembly.
