Sonic Generations Competition Being Held at Plus XP

Wanna bag yourself a set of 6 classic Sonic figurines? Then head over to Plus XP where past SEGA Driven writer Helen Doherty is holding a Sonic Generations themed competition!

Under Defeat Getting X-Box/PS3 Re-Release

Under Defeat, the helicopter shoot-em-up originally released for Dreamcast, is getting a HD re-release on X-Box 360 and Playstation 3. No word as to whether this is a digital or physical release are available at this time.

The original developer G.Rev is working on the port and it’s expected to be released in Japan on the 19th of January 2012. There is currently no news of a Western release at this time.

The game was originally released in arcades in 2005 but saw its’ only home console port on Dreamcast in 2006.

Binary Domain Pre-Order Bonuses Detailed

Binary Domain will be getting 2 distinctive sets of pre-order DLC designed around gamers who play single or multiplayer.

The single player DLC gives the character Dan Marshall a new weapon and skills from the get-go. The multiplayer DLC unlocks an extra map.

LONDON AND SAN FRANCISCO (21st October, 2011) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that the much anticipated third person, squad shooter Binary Domain™ will feature two distinctly different pre-order DLC packs.
The first pack focusses on enhancing Binary Domain’s single player experience; the ‘Dan Marshall Pack’ unlocks a brand new weapon and skills for the player’s character in Binary Domain, Sergeant Dan Marshall.
Dan is a member of the international Rust Crew charged with infiltrating robot defended Japan, and identifying the source of an illegal operation creating horrifically lifelike robots called ‘Hollow Children’. This unique pre order pack will give players access to the powerful ‘SOWSAR-17 SBMOD type G’ Assault Rifle, a significant upgrade to standard issue firepower. In addition to a powerful new weapon, players will also gain access to a number of unique bionic upgrades: Assault: Physical Enhancement I, Assault: Protective Coating and Assault: Quick Prompt. All of which make Dan more resilient, stronger and faster in combat action.
The second pack focuses on the recently revealed multiplayer aspects of Binary Domain: The ‘Multiplayer Pack’ gives access to an exclusive multiplayer map, ‘Outside High-rise, Upper City’ which can be played across a variety of Binary Domain’s multiplayer modes. In addition a new playable class is also unlocked, the ‘Ninja’ is offered for both teams; this unique playable character type is perfect for surprise attacks and adapting combat style to the situation. Finally this unique pre-order pack also contains two exclusive multiplayer weapon types the ‘Hoga Type 69’ Sniper Rifle for long range annihilation of enemies and the ‘Yamato-0’ Handgun, for more up close and personal work.
Binary Domain is a pioneering third-person squad shooter from the creators of the Yakuza series. Set in near-future Tokyo where climate change has caused many living in the lower city of Tokyo to live in poverty. New Sonic Generations Demo Live on October 19th

SEGA have announced they’re releasing a 2nd Sonic Generations demo on XBLA and PSN on October 19th. It appears that the only difference between the 1st demo that went live in June is that you can now play as Modern Sonic. See the full press release below:

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (October 17, 2011) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. & SEGA® America, Inc., today confirmed that a second demo is being released prior to the launch of the highly anticipated Sonic Generations™ game for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

The first demo, released on June 23rd 2011 – the anniversary of Sonic’s 20th year – allowed fans to play as Classic Sonic only. Now the second demo means fans can finally play as Modern Sonic – as well as Classic Sonic again – in the stunning environments of the iconic Green Hill level from Sonic Generations™. Demo #2 for the game will be available via XBLA and PSN on 19th October for Europe.

Gamers will be able to get their hands on the full game on the 4th November when Sonic Generations™ finally hits stores for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC digital download. Sonic Generations™ PC boxed product and the Nintendo 3DS™ system will be released later in November 2011.

Daytona USA For XBLA and PSN is Official! UPDATE Release Dates Confirmed

That’s right! Daytona USA is coming to X-Box Live Arcade and Playstation Network! No date has currently been set but check out the awesome announcement trailer below:

The release dates for both versions of Daytona USA on XBLA and PSN have been revealed. 360 owners get the title first on 26/10/2011 for 800 points while PSN users get the game in late November 2011.

Also revealed are a list of features that are exclusive to this version:

– Fresh Oil and a New Coat of Paint: Experience the classic retro graphics of the original arcade hit in an enhanced,16:9 widescreen format.
– Let’s Go Away: Relive your glory days of racing to the sounds of the original Daytona USA soundtrack, also available in Karaoke Mode.
– Pedal to the Metal: Drive like a pro with included support for the Logitech GT Driving Force steering wheel controller on PS3, and all Xbox 360-supported steering wheel controllers.

SEGA Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2 Now Available on PSN & XBLA
