Ladies and Gentlemen; I am proud to feature the first Fangame Focus video at The Community Spotlight, presented by us! In this new feature we talk about Sonic fangames and take a closer look at some of favourites. This episode features Sonic Axiom developed by Vexer:
A big thank you to Titanscreed for featuring us on The Community Spotlight (again!) and another huge thanks to Discoponies from The Sonic Show who made the intro segment and Nemain from Emerald Coast who is responsible for the artwork. I’m really proud to be a part of something so many people have worked on!
If you enjoyed this video then please subscribe to The Community Spotlight as we will be featuring more fangames in the future!
A trailer has been unveiled for Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition on SEGA of Japan’s YouTube channel. Check it out below:
There are also some slight graphical changes over the PS2 originals:
– The high definition display allows for more detailed character models
– The “haze” that appears on far-away objects to help improve running speeds and loading times has been removed allowing for a more detailed draw distance
– It appears that this version allows for more pedestrians in the playfield at any time
Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition launches in Japan on November 1st. No word on a Western release at this time.
Titanscreed’s Community Spotlight is a brilliant YouTube channel where Titanscreed interviews Sonic & SEGA community members and highlights interesting things happening in the community. Series one has now ended so Titanscreed has done a quick VLOG which talks about what to expect from season two. He also shares his thoughts regarding the recent Summer of Sonic event in Brighton. Check it out; there’s some interesting news regarding some collaborative work we’ll also be helping with:
So another Summer of Sonic comes to a close. The annual Sonic convention created by fans and run by fans was hit with a major stroke of bad luck when the original venue suffered from a power-cut which led to an electrical fire. Luckily, an alternative venue was acquired just in the nick of time and the convention was moved from the Hove Centre to the Brighton Centre in just 3 hours.
Despite the set-back, this year’s Summer of Sonic turned into one of the best and everyone who staffed it did an amazing job. Hopefully, all our attendees had a fantastic time!
Here’s some footage we managed to shoot while we weren’t busy elsewhere; enjoy!
It’s Summer of Sonic week! In the first of 3 interviews, Titanscreed gets some of the volunteers and minds behind Summer of Sonic (including us!) to discuss the history of the event and some of their favourite moments from past events. Click below to listen in:
Pier Solar is a rather fantastic indie RPG that was released for the Mega Drive last year. As a companion piece to the game, Watermelon Games have released a 4 disc soundtrack boxset. We received our copy this morning so we thought we’d give you some insight as to what you get for your money:

The new Project DIVA game for PS Vita and Playstation 3 now has an official title, namely ‘Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F’.
The PS Vita version launches on August 30th this year while the Playstation 3 version has an unconfirmed release date of ‘2013’.
Check out the new trailer for the game below:
Once again, these titles will probably not get a Western release due to licensing issues with the music, but thanks to the PS Vita and the PS3’s lack of region lockout they should be easy enough to import for those of you who are interested (and trust me, I’m very interested!).
Aliens: Colonial Marines, the Gearbox-developed Aliens game for X-Box 360 and PS3 has a new trailer and an actual release date! The sad news is the game has been pushed back to 2013 where it will launch worldwide on February 12th. In the meantime you can watch the new trailer and get pumped:
North American PSN users have finally got their hands on Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 2 today and SEGA have released a launch trailer to mark the occasion. The rest of the world will have to wait until tomorrow to play the game but at least we have this video to whet our appetite:
House of the Dead 4 is finally coming to home consoles with the release of the Playstation Network port which also includes PS Move support. Check out the launch trailer below:
