Classic Sonic is now available as a free downloadable character for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Classic Sonic also comes with his car from Sonic Drift which is a lovely attention to detail. An additional SEGA music collection has been added to the in-game jukebox as well. More tracks will be added to this collection as additional characters are added later this year.
In addition to Classic Sonic’s addition, SEGA have revealed that Axel from Crazy Taxi will also be added to the game in August 2026, while Amigo from Samba De Amigo will be added in September 2026. It is currently unclear if Axel and Amigo are free additions or a part of the 2nd year of paid DLC.
A Switch 2 port of Sonic Frontiers with most of the previously released DLC is now available as Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition.
Existing Switch owners of Sonic Frontiers can transfer their save files to the Definitive Edition, but there is no upgrade path for existing owners. This means you will need to shell out another £44.99 if you want to play Sonic Frontiers: Definitive Edition. You do get a digital art book and mini soundtrack with this version that is entirely exclusive to it.
Sadly there is some base Switch DLC that will get lost if you transfer your save to the Definitive Edition. The Inugami Korone Collaboration DLC and the Sonic Emote DLC for Koco will not be making an appearance in the Definitive Edition, so if you’re precious about that stuff then stick to the base Switch release.
After first being teased back in December 2023, SEGA have finally showcased the next Crazy Taxi title at this year’s Xbox Games Showcase. Now called Crazy Taxi: World Tour, this new entry in the series puts you in control Axel as he travels around the world in tracking down a nefarious thief who has stolen his beloved taxi. Crazy Taxi: World Tour is coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, PS5 and Switch 2 at some point in 2027. Please do not support developments that use generative AI as the use of AI is damaging to the environment, AI models steal artwork from living human beings, and it also puts real artists out of work.
The Creative Assembly have formally announced their sequel to 2014’s Alien Isolation.
Alien Isolation 2 was originally teased back in April 2026, but a new trailer showcased at Summer Games Fest 2026 reveals the game proper and also confirms the game will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC. You can watch the trailer below:
There is currently no release date set for Alien Isolation 2 at the time of writing.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds will continue with a 2nd year of DLC that includes a new circuit based on City Escape that has now been invaded by Godzilla himself.
But that’s not all, because a 2nd DLC pack adds Evangelion characters to CrossWorlds. Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Soryu appear as playable racers, while Eva Unit-01 appears as a giant on-track obstacle.

There is currently no release date for any season two content, but the remaining season one content will release in July 2026 (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and October 2026 (Avatar Legends).

Inin Games have showcased the first in-game look at Shenmue III Enhanced. Alongside this first look, the publisher have revealed the game is coming in 2026 to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. The Switch 2 version will even include the full game data on cartridge.
Shenmue III Enhanced will include new gameplay features like enhanced stamina so you don’t have to spend so much time making Ryo eat. There are also multiple new video options and a classic camera that apes the look of the original 2 games.
In addition to these features, the game will also receive a special edition that comes with a making of book and a ‘Definitive History of Shenmue’ documentary. There will also be a collector’s edition which includes a Ryo Hazuki statue, wooden scroll, keychain and art print bundle. The making of book and documentary are also included.
Shenmue III Enhanced is being released under license from SEGA, but Inin Games are handling publishing duties. The game is once again being developed by YsNet.
We finally have an official release date for the Mega Man DLC pack for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Mega Man, Proto Man and a Dr. Wily’s Castle circuit will arrive in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on March 26th 2026 – the same day as the physical Switch 2 edition of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds.
This DLC pack is a part of the game’s Digital Deluxe Edition and season pass, so you’ll need to fork out for a season pass if you only have the base game. You can watch a teaser trailer for the DLC pack below if you like:
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is out now on PS4, PS5, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. A physical Switch 2 release will arrive on the same day as the Mega Man DLC pack – March 26th 2026.
3 more characters are due to be added to Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds starting April 2026. In April Red from Angry Birds and Goro Majima from Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii will be added to the game and no extra cost. In May 2026 the game will also get a free update that adds Arle from the Puyo Puyo franchise as a playable character. You can see the character reveal trailer below:
In addition to these new characters, the game will also receive a music update that adds a whole bunch of classic SEGA racing songs. These include tracks like Lets Go Away from Daytona USA, Outride a Crisis from Super Hang-On, and Magical Sound Shower from Out Run among many others.

A free update to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds has added 2 new playable characters to the game in the form of Tangle and Whisper from the Sonic the Hedgehog IDW comics. Their addition to Sonic Racing CrossWorlds marks one of the very few times that characters not created by Sonic Team have appeared in an official Sonic the Hedgehog video game. Tangle and Whisper have previously appeared in the mobile games Sonic Dash and Sonic Forces: Speed Battle.

SEGA have revealed 4 new characters for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds are due to be added for free in the coming months. NiGHTS will join the roster in December 2025, AiAi will be added in January 2026, and both Tangle and Whisper will be added in February 2026.
