October 24th marks the release of 2 DLC packs for Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit.
The first is the ‘Pimp My Rabbit pack’ (240MSP/£1.99). This adds over 50 masks for Ash and 11 driller skins which reference past SEGA franchises like Jet Set Radio, Super Monkey Ball, Shinobi and Crazy Taxi.
The second pack is titled ‘The Virtual Rabbit Missions’ (400MSP/£3.69) and it adds 50 new challenges for an additional 3 hours of gameplay.
Crazy Taxi us now available to download on iOS devices, but what’s more interesting is that the original Bad Religion/The Offspring soundtrack is now back in the game! The original soundtrack was previously missing from recent releases on XBLA/PSN/Steam as well as the PSP re-release Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars.
The game is currently priced at £2.99 on the UK app store. Now SEGA have reacquired the rights for the original soundtrack perhaps they can release a patch for the XBLA/PSN versions so we can all enjoy it? Here’s hoping!
SEGA’s Hardlight Studio has revealed that Viking: Battle for Asgard is being released on Steam next week.
Viking was originally released for X-Box 360 and PS3 back in 2008 and developed by The Creative Assembly. The game has been ported by Hardlight Studio which is a newly SEGA aquired studio based in Solihull, West Midlands UK.
Hardlight are also working on a new version of Sonic Jump for mobile devices.
In case you haven’t been informed, ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ is a new animated movie from Disney which pays homage to video games. The protoganist from the film is Ralph; a video game villain who gets sick of being the villain and decides to leave his game for pastures new.
In possibly one of the most left field announcements SEGA have ever made, Ralph is now appearing as a playable character in Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed.
Also revealed is that Roger Craig Smith will voice a Sonic cameo in the Disney film as well. So that’s 2 SEGA characters now featured in ‘Wreck-It Ralph’ as Dr. Eggman also features in a Villains Anonymous meeting.
Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing Transformed will be released 20/11/2012 in North America. No words on other worldwide release dates at this time.
NiGHTS into Dreams…, the much-loved SEGA Saturn high-score flying game is being re-released for X-Box Live Arcade, Playstation Network and PC download. There is no release date at this time but an announcement trailer reveals that the game is being remastered with high definition graphics and a widescreen display. The original Saturn version is also included.
At yesterday’s Summer of Sonic event, Steve Lycett revealed the inclusion of NiGHTS and Reala from NiGHTS into Dreams as playable characters in Sonic & SEGA All-Star Racing Transformed. Both characters take the form of vehicles with a Nightopian and a Nightmaren riding on their backs.
Also revealed was a NiGHTS themed track. The track is themed around Spring Valley with additional areas of Nightmare that include appearances from the bosses Gillwing and Wizeman.
The HD port of Jet Set Radio originally set for release this summer on XBLA, PSN and Steam is now coming to Playstation Vita.
The Vita version will include touchscreen controls and camera integration that is exclusive to this port. We assume this will be used for the tagging in the game and creating your own tags but this hasn’t been confirmed at this time.
The game will also be playable at this year’s E3 event at the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 5th to the 7th. There is currently no word in regards to when this version of Jet Set Radio will release or if it will come out on the same day as the XBLA/PSN/Steam releases.
